Properties on the Big Island

We are planning our 30th Anniversary, and are looking at a few properties on the Big Island of Hawaii. If anyone has any input please chime in!

We are considering staying at:

Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet, on the Kona side.

Alii Villas, also on the Kona side.

I have read mixed reviews on both of these properties, both of the units we want are ocean front. One comes with a free 2003 Honda Element, which could save us $500.

Any help, or other suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks!

Sue

RE: Properties on the Big Island

We stayed twice at the Vista Waikoloa (I've reviewed it -- just google it and you should find it) up on the Kohala Coast. We loved it, but they were doing a lot of construction last time we were there, building new condos on the rocky coastline there, thereby ruining some of the beauty and charm.

Kona is a cute town and has a lot of affordable hotels, but if you want more of a resort, I do recommend going a bit north up towards the Kohala Coast area.

If you have any questions on the Big Island, just drop me an e-mail. It is my favorite island!
