Wow...I am so excited about this message board!
I had my first child in March and my life has been chaos ever since. I love my baby and wouldn't replace him for anything in the world, however, my new lifestyle leaves little time for anything recreational. (i.e.; this website). I am so behind on reading opinions it's sad.
I have been able to communicate from time to time on other breastfeeding message boards. It's something I'm extremely passionate about and love being about to do for my son. Looks like I'm the first one to post a topic. Well having done this for the past 8 months, I think I might be able to lend some advice.. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

RE: Wow...I am so excited about this message board!
I'm so glad that you found this board. I know how having the little ones keeps rec. time to a minimum, but this is a great place to connect with other Epinioners and make great friends.
I'm long past my own breastfeeding days (my 'baby' is four now), but I know how easy it is to get passionate about!
Sincerely,

I'm very glad that you are excited too! I breastfed my first child and am currently pregnant with my second, so I'll be doing it all again here soon. My first child took a few days to figure out how the whole eating thing worked -- I'm really hoping my second has no trouble.
At any rate, I'm so glad you've found your way here! Hopefully this board will start seeing more action in the near future! :)

Nursing
I'm pregnant with my third and also plan on breast feeding again. I just this week finally weaned my 17 month old. Already I am starting to get back a little more energy. It is a wonderful experience but it does tend to suck some energy from you. |

RE: Nursing
Wow, you made it to 17 months? That's great!
I think the longest I nursed any of my kids was my first, we made it to 15 months. None of my other kids even made a year, with my third being the shortest--three months.
I guess a few months is better than nothing, but I am so in awe of you for making it to nearly a year and a half.

I'm glad to see this forum too, and hope I can be of some help to someone someday. :) My 17-month-old is still an avid nurser, I just don't see her giving it up on her own anytime soon. Ah well, I'm not in a huge hurry. Maybe when it's time for #2... |

That's great krissingene! My firstborn only made it to around 13-14 months before he preferred cups (except for that last nighttime feeding - he liked that one and I didn't really want to give it up either). Now my new newborn is crazy for nursing (and he's a big boy too), so I'm back into the thick of it again.
I do so hope people will find and use these boards. :)
