Hey, I'm here

32 campgrounds must account for something..ok ok, we were in a travel trailer but we've done the tent then pop up route as well. Our trailer -21'- is for sale. After 91 days in it it kind of got small - really small. If we can sell it we'll just upgrade to a 25 or 26' trailer. Those extra feet make a huge difference. Though we might stay home this summer except for small jaunts. We live on the ocean - if anyone ever wants to drive an hour south of Boston, I think I've got a piece of heaven here (other than Sedona, Acadia, Hawaii...) jo

RE: Hey, I'm here

How was your trip overall? 3 months of driving has got to get tiring, no?

I'm sure the two months that I'll be spending next summer driving up to Alaska & back will take their toll, especially since that means sleeping in a tent for ~60 days in a row, all alone. All the same, I'm so sick of the repetitive life I currently lead, it'll be nice to have something completely different for two months.

RE: Hey, I'm here

I think I would have gone crazy in a car for three months with the same people. That or at every stop - we'd go off and do our own things before getting back in the car again.

Sounds like a great drive for you next summer though - you'll have to fill us in on the details when you're through with it.

24/7 with the same people

I think the key is liking who you are with! We were planning on trekking to Alaska via the northern route rather than the southern route to CA we took this summer but I think we'll only do short trips.

People can't believe that my husband and I can stand to spend that much time together but the truth is we get along best when we are traveling - I guess there is just no pressure- total relaxation - we love it. The trip was fantastic all around. Other than the tornado watch (finding ourselves in the bathroom of the campground (we don't have tornadoes in MA) and seriously not sure if we would get out of the Grand Tetons, it was a fantastic trip. Even 91 days just touched the surface of this country and we did the Grand Canyon to Carlsbad Cavern route about 10 years ago so we didn't go back to those places (Bryce/Zion)..we still have a lot to see. You'll have a wonderful 2 month trip. jo
