What are your favorite brands of canned cat food?

In no particular order,
Active Life, some flavors of Fancy Feast, some flavors of Nutro Max (love the senior cat), and I'm checking into Felidae (trying this tomorrow...well, my cat's are).

So...what's on your list, and why?

My cats like some flavors of Fancy Feast, Friskies and 9Lives. We tried Nutro and they weren't thrilled with it, I guess they figure they have the dry food for their healthy part of their diet.

Frisky will eat just about anything we put in front of him, but Cuddles is so darn picky, we usually try the different chicken flavors for them or she'll just lick the juice.

Anyone else have a really finicky cat?

Ripley loves Nutro, but they don't offer very much of a variety for kittens. He loves Fancy Feast and since it doesn't upset his tummy I feed it to him a couple times a week.

I feed my cat Nature's Recipe and its his favorite, bar none. My 5 yr old cat LOVES it and I like it b/c there are no bi-products in it. Its all real beef, chicken, tuna, etc. No "scraps off the floor" as some of these food manfacturers use.

RE: Canned Cat Food

Isn't is a shame that more attention isn't paid to the ingredients that the mfg. puts into pet food?

To most of us, these are members of our families and we want the best for them.

RE: Canned Cat Food

Meow Mix has come out with some really great pouched wet foods for cats. No byproducts and not a lot of other crap either. They're actually priced pretty good, too. .33 a pouch.

I agree!

I was surprised, but the new meowmix pouch foods aren't bad (and have very clever product names).

Something else I just tried are AvoDerm's Select Cuts - the beef chunks and Tuna and Crab Meat Chunks, very nice, very good ingredients list!

the cats eat better than me sometimes

My cats enjoy Natural Balance ultra formula, Trader Joe's Tuna formula, and Wysong Beef Au Jus.

I used to feed stuff like Friskies and Fancy Feast to them but they always seemed to leave most of it in the dish. Now that I've learned what exactly goes into those food, I have to say I can't blame them for not eating it!

I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination but I try to feed the best foods I can afford. I use www.petfooddirect.com to order foods and usually wait until I get an email with a coupon code for 15%-22% off. It still costs a fair amount but I figure I'll save a lot in vet bills.

I recently ordered Merrick cans and look forward to reviewing them.

RE: What are your favorite brands of canned cat food?

My cat is very finnicky and has decided to only eat people food such as shrimp, hamburg, etc. I don't know if this is good for him?? I have tried fancy feast, purina, meow mix, and sheba which are loved for about 4 cans and then he wants the real chicken, beef, etc.
