waggintrainbrand information needed
Recently I bought a waggintrainbrand, Frashiee, that my dog loves.
But...I have few questions that I hope somebody will be able to answer, here it goes:
1- how many calories each bone has?
2- Among the ingredients I noticed Glycerin and Wheat Gluten Isolate that frequently comes from China. Does anybody had information about the safety of the products? The pouches I bought came from LOT:93589
I Emailed this question to waggintrainbrand@adipet.com I did not received any answer yet
Thanks

Re:
I did a Google search on "Waggin' Train Freshies information" and got a lot of results back that looked useful; didn't have any time to look through them but you might be able to find something there. Also bear in mind there are at least two sizes of Freshies (we carry two where I work) so calorie counts will vary according to the size you chose, I imagine different flavors may also have different calorie counts.
side note: an Epinions review was the second return on that search, good job everybody!
EDIT: I know Freshies were not included in the massive recall a couple months ago (unless the liver flavored ones were, we don't carry those so I wouldn't have known about it). As for new recalls, nothing has as of yet effected the flavors my work carries |

RE: waggin train brand chicken jerky
I (2) dogs had very big problem with the Waggin Train brand chicken jerky I bought from Walmart, Sam's Club and Costco. I had to take them to the vet. last month as both of them nearly die after serious vomiting and diarrhea. Anyone knew what's wrong with it ? |

RE: waggin train brand chicken jerky
The bloody Waggin Train brand chicken jerky killed my dog last week... The company needs to recall and Walmart, Sam's should remove from the shelf, can't believe they are still there. |

pet food waggintrain jerky
thank-you so much for posting your experiences with waggintrain chicken jerky tenders. I bought them a walmart and shouldn't have but the packaging looked so like they were careful. My dog has been tired, decrease appetite and decreased voiding so a got suspicious and looked on the net. he has been having 2 per day for several months and I started giving them to the 5months old pup for chewing they just loved them. Too bad. I guess I'll be making my own dog biscuits and giving fresh raw bones. Are there any safe products for dogs out there? |

Waggin Train Brand Jerky Tenders
Just this last weekend I purchased a huge bag of these treats for my boys. I should have known better but did not notice the "made in China" way down in small letters at the bottom of the bag. All I noticed was the Reno, Nevada reference. I only fed them two pieces each, but am now concerned, of course. Would someone please advise how much they fed their dogs. I am praying this small amount will not make them ill.
These were purchased at Sams and I cannot believe they are still on the shelf after making dogs sick several months ago.
Let the Pet Food Industry be aware that I will not purchase any of their products again. I will from now on make treats for them here at home. Sure hope I am not alone in this boycott. Pet lovers need to hurt them financially to make them more responsible.

Waggin Train Brand Jerky Tenders
I'm so glad all of you posted your information on these treats. I have a 7 yr old Lab who has been eating these treats for about a week and has recently become ill. He has had diarrea & a very foul gas odor for the past two days. I just thought he had a virus but after hearing about the WalMart recall I decided to see if these new treats had anything to do with it. I'm glad I ran a google search and found your feedback. I will be sure to make an appt with the vet asap! |

Jerky Tenders
Our dog Vinnie has been eating two or three jerky chicken tenders every day for three years and loves them. No problems so far but I will abstain from them for now until a satisfactory resolution of this caution is resolved. |

They are Irradiated, Avoid at all Cost!
There are over 400 scientific studies submitted to the FDA linking irradiated foods to kidney failure, testicular cancer and a host of other diseases in animals. The FDA, under pressure from lobbyist of huge retailers and food processors ignored most of the studies and chose just four handpicked studies to approve introduction of irradiated food into the United States. What people are failing to consider is that these treats are irradiated with a leftover by-product of spent nuclear rods called "cesium 137" and are from China. How can people,(including myself) be so easily fooled into a false sense of security when buying these products? I guess the packaging has something to do with it. It looks like an all-American cartoon on the front. The Radura symbol on the back (which is a Federally mandated warning) is a green circle with a green flower in the center evoking feelings of green pastures, clean air and a sunny, happy day. If you see this symbol, then please place item back on shelf or remove from shopping cart. They contain new radiolytic toxic properties such as "2-dodecylcyclobutanone" which is a substance not found in any other food on earth and ironically is the marker used by laboratories to determine if a food has been irradiated. If you've been feeding your pet these snacks then I would strongly suggest you have their blood tested. If the test reveal higher levels of Creatine than normal, then your pet probably has kidney failure. If they catch it in the early stages then your Vet can place them on a Renal diet which can prolong the animals life for several years. Unless a mass number of people start complaining to the FDA then this needless disaster will continue. Waggin Train isn't the only company that sells irradiated animal meats. Bestro's Chicken Strips for Dogs is another. I noticed that Ebay and Amazon list every preservative in the other types of food products sold, but they surreptitiously omit or fail to mention that these foods have been irradiated even though the FDA has mandated that consumers be warned. If your pet has one of the diseases that was caused by eating the irradiated food then I've included a link to the FDA's complaint page which has every phone number listed for all regions of the United States. Walmart has tested the Bestro's brand that was pulled from stores yesterday and found melamine which is toxic to animals. Yet one more reason not to buy food products that originate from China. http://www.fda.gov/opacom/backgrounders/complain.html |

RE: waggintrainbrand information needed
In answer to your post on waggintrainbrand I cannot get an answer at the email site on the jerky tenders package. I am trying to find status of the chicken jerky tenders which come from China as there is apparently a recall on some of these items due to pesticide residue. Do you know anything about this? |

Waggin' Train Brand Jerky Tenders
We have been using this brand for several years with our four year old Schipperke (small 13 lb. dog) with no problems and she loves them. I contacted ADI PET, Inc. the vendor and just received the response which I attach below. It appears this brand is fine and not part of the Wal-Mart recall. Judge for yourself.
Dear Concerned Pet Owner:
-- NONE of the Waggin’ Train Brand pet treats have been recalled --
Regarding our Chicken Jerky Tenders:
Waggin' Train Brand Chicken Jerky Tenders are completely safe and should not be confused with the other two brands of chicken jerky that are being pulled from Wal-mart’s shelves. We have NO association with the Pingyang Pet Product Co. or Shanghai Bestro Trading Co. nor do we purchase our ingredients from the same supplier.
As American joint-owners of the factories, ADI Pet is completely familiar with and confident in the exceptional quality-control protocols that we have in place for the processing of our Chicken Jerky Tenders and other Waggin’ Train Brand products. We are intrinsically involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process.
Please be assured that we sell thousands of bags of this product each week and have never had a recall on our product. Over the past five years, approximately 50 million pounds of the Waggin’ Train Brand Chicken Jerky Tenders have been consumed (without incident) by thousands of dogs nationwide. Based upon this excellent track record, we truly regard this product as safe for pets of all sizes.
All of the raw material that we use to make the Chicken Jerky Tenders is fresh, 100% premium chicken breast tenderloins and natural seasonings. Our "natural seasonings" are simply apple cider vinegar, sugar and salt.
The Chicken Jerky Tenders contain no grain fillers, no wheat gluten and no rice protein additives. Nor do we use artificial preservatives, colorings nor flavorings of any kind.
All Waggin’ Train Brand products are sterilized by irradiation, based upon USDA safe sterilization guidelines. The sterilization process eliminates the possibility of contamination by any potentially harmful microbes including E.coli and Salmonella.
Because chicken is a regulated product, the USDA regularly pulls samples from incoming containers of product, for laboratory testing. We have never had a positive test for product contamination.
Our facilities are regularly inspected by SGS, which is one of the largest international inspection companies in the world. Costco, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart contract with SGS, for inspections, to ensure that the products are being processed, based upon USDA processing guidelines.
Please be assured that when you give your pet Chicken Jerky Tenders, you are providing your pet with the highest quality chicken pet product that is available in the marketplace.

The Corporation is Running Scared
The Waggin Train company posted that press release all over the intenet to try and squelch peoples legitimate concerns about the the publics safety. They and the retailers like Walmart,Amazon, and Ebay should be held liable for not only making the animals sick and die, but also for trying to mislead the public with misinformation about the safety of irradiated food. |

RE: Waggin' Train Brand Jerky Tenders
Shall I trust you ? Where is your Waggin Train chicken made ? Show us the factory pic., business license to prove this is within the states.
50 millions pounds in last 5 years, great number, how many dogs died ? Pls be honest to share with us.
Your factory with 10 millions pounds annual capacity, it must be a very big factory, show us...
Guess what, I will try my best to have FDA recall your products. |

RE: Jerky Tenders
I too have been feeding these treats to my three dogs for years also with no problems. That was until three days ago. I just left my dog at the vet; dehydrated, vomiting, and with bloody stool. The vet told me that is was Selah Manila from the chicken treats. I just emailed the company. I wonder what form of response I will get. You know others are complaining if a popup on the issue is the first thing you see on the company website. |

My dog skeeter died from eating the waggin train jerky from Sam's Club. My dog Pauley is having seizures. I'm asking Sam's to discontinue this treat. |

RE: Waggin' Train Brand Jerky Tenders
jimcu8678 I agree with you completely. I feel like I murdered my dog after feeding him this jerky. In big letters on the bag it has Reno NV, but way down in the righthand corner in the crease in small letters, it has made in China. |

RE: Waggin' Train Brand Jerky Tenders
We have three wonderful dogs, One Golden, One Cock-a-poo, and one Westie. Our dogs have been eating the Jerky Tenders as a special treat for over FOUR YEARS! Our dogs have never had any problem with them. We are VERY CAREFUL what we buy and feed our family members (our dogs are family members to us). When all the whole mess started with the dog food and treats being re-called, I called and talked with ADI PET, INC. Not only did I call and talk with them, but I followed up and checked out everything they told me.
My sister works high up in the Federal Government, and she spent over 5 weeks, checking up everything they said.
In the end, as ADI PET INC. said, they are safe.
We all know that some dogs are more sensative to different things, and then there are dogs that can eat anything and never get sick. Since we have three dogs, all different breeds, I thought I would share our feelings on this topic. We will continue to buy the chicken tenders at Sam's Club.
I do hope that no other dogs get sick with the Chicken Tenders. We love all of God's creatures, so it breaks my heart to see any of them get sick or die.
Thanks for letting me share!
Merlin12
P.S. My Golden is my service dog - so he has a huge job of taking care of me. |
