Every night my cat wakes my husband and I up at least 4 or 5 times by running around the apartment knocking things off tables and counters and shredding paperwork.

This behavior has been happening for months and we are very tired! There has been no major change in our enviroment, but I certainly sense that Gus is stressed about something. He'll beg for food, even when his bowl is full, and when we try to play or pet him, he'll run away.

Has anyone experience this before? He is a healthy, young cat, but is in obvious need of something.

If you haven't had him neutered, that will help. Also a spray bottle of water works well when he's caught misbehaving.
