RE: betta fish
Yes, it's my son's fish so he named it Young (young fish). I later found out that was the same name as the pet fish in the classroom. His teacher gave all her kids pet fish (she asked the parents first) because they loved to watch and take care of her fish all year. She sent it home with a small bowl but since I knew my cats (and kids) would be too tempted with the open top I got a small starter aquarium - its only 1.5 gallon but that seemed to be ample room for the solitary betta. So far he (?) is still alive and a very pretty red color.
Quote: joyfulgirl91 They're purty! Really low maintenance, too. Most people seem to keep them in a smaller tank than I would have advised in my pet shop days, but they tolerate it. If you get a larger tank they are more active. Does he have a name yet?
