Waggin Train Jerky Treats almost killed my dachshung this weekend
Hello, my name is Cristy I came home from a hospital procedures last Friday and Dewy my 15 mth old dachshund wasn't moving. I just grabbed him and ran out the door, which of course, I wasn't supposed to drive. He was in an Emergency Care facility from Friday until Monday and then we moved him to a Diagnostic Center in Dallas. My baby was dying of Kidney failure. I think the swelling in my eyes from crying has just now gone down. We got to bring him home Thursday and looks like he will make a full recovery.
We had $6,200 worth of test and treatment for him. His test results wer negetive for Lept and other obvious things that could have triggered this. The Pathologist told me the only other thing is could be was the stupid dog treats from Sam's Club we gave him. The Waggin Train 98% Natural Chicken Jerky Looking back we remember Debie and Reddogg (our other dogs) eating lots of grass and then throwing up. We just thought they were being dogs ya know, and because the grass was starting to turn green again. When Dewy got sick the first time we stopped giving the treats just in case it was them. We mentioned the treats to ALL THE DOCTORS and they just blew that idea off until we saw a specialist. Debie, Redd and everyone has stopped eating grass and NO throwing up since we stopped, but it got a hold on Dewy and almost killed him. I had a meeting with Sam's Monday and they did pull the treats from the shelf.
Kidney failure is what was happening not too long ago with the dog food scare. What we have found out is, it's not the chicken or any ingredients in the treat, it's the way they are sterilized to get rid of any bacteria. They actually use radiation to sterilized them and the chemical makeup of the chicken changes. I've been to Target, and PetSmart and looked on all the Chicken Jerky treats, not just Wagon Train brand and they are all from China. Even Dr. Fosters and Vitality which are supposed to be the best. In our case the reaction to the treat wasn't immediately. It was eating them over a period of time which was poisoning them. The doctors all say it's not going to be easy to fight the giants of the dog food world, but if I can help just one other family I have to try.
PLEASE DO NOT FEED THESE TO YOUR ANIMALS
