Stain remover and light

A few months ago, I spotted a terrific review about a product that had a light of some sort that was used to find cat urine stains. It also contained a spray to clean the stain. I sent the link to my wife to read but we never followed up.

We now have a cat that is driving us crazy by peeing inappropriately around the house. Unfortunately, I can't remember the product that was reviewed and I'd really like to try the light and cleaner now. Can anyone point me toward this product? I'd appreciate the help!

Getting rid of cat urine

Bob,

If you can't find that product you read about, you can always try the one I use for my dog and cat messes and it works. It doesn't come with a blacklight but it does come in spray or concentrated bottles. It is called Simple Solution. It surpasses a product called Natures Miracle. A gallon container costs about ten dollars.

You can find my reviews on both of these products.

Good luck!

RE: Getting rid of cat urine

Thanks, Kathy. Is the light simply a black light (ultraviolet)? I don't know what else it might be but thought it might have a special wavelength or intensity of light. I'll try to track down your reviews.

Getting rid of cat urine

Hi Bob,

No, a regular blacklight is fine and will show up enough shocking evidence for you. You can get them for under 10 dollars. The size of the light doesn't even matter since you are just looking at the area that you need to make sure you treat.

It is so nice not to smell that wicked smell any longer so I know the Simple Solution product works and the stain doesn't reappear like it use to trying to use a different brand.

Good luck,
Kathy

Cat Urine Remover

I believe the website product you are looking for is called Urine-off. It has some great reviews and as far as I have seen is the only one that will send you a high uv output blacklight. (Although the cheap ones at wal-mart work for me...you just have to get a little closer to whatever your scanning) I am currently trying Simple Solution, if this does not work....I am going to try the urine-off.

RE: Cat Urine Remover

The cat must have worked through whatever difficulties she had at the time, because she hasn't been peeing inappropriately for a few months now. We did get a black light at at pet store after finding many places were sold out, for some reason. After going around the house with it, there were fewer urine spots than I had expected.

Thanks for all the help!

Excellent results

Had pets for years and have tried simple Solution and Natures Miracle as well as darn near everything else that has come along. Came across Urine-Off and found out it is the real deal! It has even removed old stains that I have tried others on that failed. Completely erased the odors too. Also, my yorky isn't returning to his usual spot and is holding it for outdoors. I wonder if it works as a training aid? It cost more (about $12.00)but well worth it in my "Epinion". My neighbor is now using it for her cats and is thrilled with the results.

Black Light

Forgot to mention I also got the "Urine Finder" from the Urine-Off website ($9.95). Have tried other blacklights and this one was the most powerful and I liked its small size. (If you want a real thrill, check out your bathroom with it, YIKES!) Used Urine-Off on that too and it worked like a charm.

RE: Stain remover and light

could it have been Rug Doctor urine remover? i ordered off the internet this package that came with two spray bottles of the urine remover and one bottle of spot & stain remover and it came with a little black light. all cost about $30.00 after s&h. i was not unhappy with my results, but i was not thrilled either. any black light will work but it has to be very dark in the room, it was not as easy to find as told. i had to use several applications of the product and still could smell cat pee.

i am also looking for a product that really gets that smell OUT...if anyone knows please tell. thanks and good luck.
