home gym

Iíve been considering getting one of those Ďall-in-oneí home gym type things. I see the ads for bowflex and the like, is there anything else that can give you a good all-around workout that isnít quite as expensive?

Thanks,
Jeff

RE: home gym

I recently discovered an amazing exercise machine called a Vasa Trainer. My daughter is a swimmer and we got one for her, since her coach recommended it. It's not well known, but apparently virtually all top swimmers and triathletes use it for swim training. When I read the manual, I saw over 200 exercises and got motivated to try it. It works much better than a total gym. You lift your body up an inclined monorail. Have been doing the everyday athlete circuit 3 days per week for the last 6 weeks. Already i have lost 30 pounds and am near my goal weight. Over the years, I have used all sorts of equipment at health clubs and at home. I can't say enough good things about the Vasa. It's fun to use, functional and has really made a difference in my life. Basic model runs about $700. Their website is www.vasatrainer.com
Good luck.

Jeff - sorry I didn't see this sooner. If you are serious I'll be glad to do research. I'm familiar with most brands. Have you looked at the Weider ones. There is one I like that fits into a corner of the room. That might be the one where two people can use it at one time. Let me know and I'll try and find one for you but I would look at Weider. jo
