Anyone seen...??
...
Has anyone seen of of these in the real world..??
That looks _really_ cool..!!
If you are a 'bed-reader' . . .that would be a great thing to have . . .or given the season, to receive.
Follow the Hammacher Schlemmer link in the first paragraph to see the actual product.

RE: Anyone seen...??
Wouldn't it be annoying to add any amount of complexity to turning a page?

That's what I was thinking. :)
I'd like to actually see one in person, however. It could bea more useful then the picture shows.

I kinda figured that would have already been addressed.
Does not seem they would be able to market it successfully if it were truly that annoying.
Interesting.

Better off with an ebook reader or PDA
They self-light and you don't have to physically put anything together. And you can carry an entire library in the palm of your hand. |

True.
But a reader would not be able to use it with millions of books that are not available in that format.
There is something about holding a book, the weight of it, the smell, texture of it . . .that really make some books 'different', 'better', than others. Of course, whether that is a book you would be reading in bed or otherwise needing that product for is a fair questions also.

Quote: darylcarpenter Then you've obviously never bought a book from Salvation Army. The "smell" is something I try to forget.

Good point. I have indeed done the 'indie' book and music stores quite often. Walking out with a cardboard box full of books and/or old LPs for a few bucks is a real treat.
But seriously, there is a reason Captain James T. Kirk kept a book or two on the starship Enterprise.
