Moving Reviews...

I picked up a cookbook from the library the other day and was checking for it in the database this morning. What I found was a review written in 2000 for a completely different cookbook. The member even stated the review was in the wrong area and would be moved as soon as the correct listing was added.

I checked, and the correct listing is now available for the off-topic review. The problem is, this member is no longer active.

Are Leads able to move reviews to the proper place when the member is no longer available for doing so?

I'm not certain of the rules for posting links here, so I'll wait until further comment before giving any specifics.

RE: Moving Reviews...

I'm afraid we don't have this capability.

To be honest, I'm glad we don't. One of the things that makes epinions unique is that its content remains member-owned. They do not buy our intellectual property, and they don't edit it. Allowing them, or even worse, another member (even a CL) to modify or move my content would open the door to things I don't like to contemplate.

If there's now a proper listing for the item, it's now an OT review and should be so rated. You can be a good samaritan and try and contact the member. But if they're no longer active, it's safe to assume they don't care if their review falls off the site visibility-wise.

RE: Moving Reviews...

I did rate it OT, but I was just hoping to see it in the right place since it would have made the first review. I can see your point, though.

Thank you for responding. Also, congratulations on your new position. They chose an excellent person for the role.
