Carrying on the tradition of author obituaries for this board:

Fantasy author David Eddings (The Belgariad, The Mallorean) died June 2nd.

Well, that news just ruined my evening. I had secretly been hoping for another series and some more adventures with Aunt Pol, Garion, Belgarath, Ce'Nedra and all of the other memorable characters. I guess it's time to re-read the series -- Eddings was my favorite of the fantasy writers next to Tolkien. Sigh.
