Television?

I feel like a topic or subject solely devoted to the small screen (television) should be included in here.

That's because (speaking of television) I want to display my post, which deals with a television show. It's more of a request, by the way. I am posting this thread for all of you just to find out if, by any chance, you or anyone else that you know may have been able to record the former Saturday morning NBC series "Skate" ("SK8") on a VHS tape when it aired three seasons ago. I am also in the process of looking for someone who recorded all of the show's commercials, along with the ending credits at the end of every episode. "Skate" was a teen-oriented skateboarding series that was a part of NBC's "TNBC" lineup during the 2001-2002 television season. The show only lasted one season, with a total of 13 episodes filmed. The main cast included Christopher Jorgens, Adrienne Carter, Jorgito Vargas, Jr., and Blair Wingo.

If you did record this show, especially if you recorded all of the TV commercials during every episode and the ending credits at the end of every episode, or if you happen to know someone else who was able to record this show (in particular anyone else who recorded all of the commercials and the ending credits), please send an e-mail back to me immediately. Be sure to include the total number of "Skate" episodes that you or your acquaintance recorded. My e-mail address is david_lumpkins@yahoo.com. My ultimate goal is to set up a tape-trade with anyone who recorded this show, especially if the person recorded any of the show's commercials. If you did not record any episodes of this show, please try to give me some additional online websites so I can continue to post this message for other people to see.

Thank you.

(Note: If you recorded the Nickelodeon TV show "SK8-TV" in which debuted in 1990, please take note that it is not the show that I am looking for! I am only looking for the NBC show titled "SK8", which was on the "Peacock" network between October of 2001 and September of 2002. Many people in the past have gotten those two shows confused with each other.)

TV

Good point, and one that has been raised before. If there is enough interest we will try to get a seperate topic for television. What does anyone else think?

RE: Television?

Anyway, I've checked with Grrett and they don't want to add a TV forum yet - the idea hasn't been ruled out for the future though.

RE: Television?

I'm obviously running a little late, but I was actually coming in here to maybe suggest a telivision category, too- it seems like something people would be interested in, especially since reviews are so much more thorough, typically, than the little blips that advertise those shows. Hoping it happens one of these days!

RE: Television?

I think at the moment it's not planned still, but if enough people such as yourself show an interest, it might just happen... (Don't hold your breath too long though :-D)

I agree with you, Television and TV Shows Review is much better. Or Movie Idea and General Discussion

RE: Television

The thing is, when there have been threads started about TV shows, there is very little interest in them. Therefore it doesn't seem logical to try to push for having a separate board.

I don't know. I'd kinda like a place to chat about TV things. Seems like it might get more business than some of the current boards... :)

What sorts of TV shows do you watch over there in England anyhow? I liked Coupling pretty well and got into the new Doctor Who series lately. Other than that, no clue.

RE: Television

:) I'm pretty disappointed with the new season of The Dead Zone prior to these last couple episodes they'd managed to sidestep a lot of the trite crap that you'd expect to happen in a show like this. Now they are busting out the hoary cliches. New cop in charge that is suspicious of the main character's psychic talents is featured in the second episode of the season. I'd thought it refreshing that the psychic guy was working along with the cops for once. In most films they have the antagonistic relationship with the local police.

:) As for the movie quote game it might have been a bit easier if the character names were included with the quotes. I mean stumping people for long periods isn't exactly the point of the Movie Quote game. :) I'd have probably guessed the Red Dwarf one if names had been included.

RE: Television

Sorry Ander, I hadn't noticed your replies before!!

I don't have a TV (yes there are people alive in the West who don't have a TV!! :-D Well not many admittedly..) Every now and then when I'm round someone's house who does there are some classic sit-coms on such as Porridge and As Time Goes By. I regularly watch Red Dwarf ;-) I do also like some American sitcoms like Frasier, Cheers, and Friends (sorry but I just like it!!)

As for a TV board getting more traffic... well it could hardly get less, I suppose!!

*shrug* I like some British stuff myself. Red Dwarf is all right but I've been digging the new Doctor Who fairly well lately. I also liked Coupling quite a bit and caught Fawlty Towers a bit back and thought it very funny. Also Jeeves and Wooster was good but I'm not exactly sure if that was British or not.

:) I also like Frasier, Cheers, and Friends to some degree (I think it is pretty funny at times but at other times they get a bit too much into the relationships and it loses the humour.

RE: Television

:) Which kinda reiterated my first post as I see now but:p~

I've only sorta kinda sorta my own TV. I don't watch TV in my room but do watch it in my house. I rent a room. On my own TV I watch DVDs and videos, including TV series on DVD. I quite dig the TV shows on DVD idea. No commercials and you don't have to wait for the next episode (which can be fun too but..)

...

I don't think there's much chance of a dedicated TV section but I can start a thread and pin it in the General Movies section.

Here it is - TV Thread
