Hey! Whatzupwitu.........

Sillysambrown here. Check my work

http://www.epinions.com/user-sillysambrown

I ain't much of a reviewer but my reviews are often passionate and usually will be about music or films that people rag on alot. I will almost certainly be reviewing more stuff from the era 1987-1993.

RE: Hey! Whatzupwitu.........

hey sillysam...

One of the rules of the road here in the message boards:
No Advertising (also known as "link pimping"). You'll need to remove the URL from your post, at least.

As for your lack of hits so far - there's a couple basic reasons for this that happen to just about everybody:

1. Little or no reputation - best way to get name recognition and some interest is to read, rate and comment on other people's reviews. But whatever you do, DO NOT just speed through as many reviews as you can, clicking on rates without really reading the reviews. That kind of behavior will get you a bad reputation...Read through some reviews when you have time, give an honest rate, and leave a thoughtful comment about the review. People appreciate that sort of feedback.

2. As you said, your reviews might be somewhat "lacking" - well, that could be true, and that would also explain a general lack of interest in reading your reviews. If you truly wish to be a regular writer in any category, you'll have to do what you can to improve the quality of your work to make it stand out. I can tell you from experience that quality writers get positive word of mouth references amongst the regulars in a category - this is the kind of movement you want towards your work.

It takes time and effort to get your reviews noticed and appreciated - keep working on your quality, and get involved in the category's community by reading, rating and commenting. It'll happen eventually...

Andrew

Cool. I ain't worried that not many people are looking at my reviews. Why would they? I review what is considered to be crap! Don't take me as saying that most people are snobs as they are not. It is just that I like obscure stuff compared to most people.

It's all good. Iam glad just to be writing sometimes. Peace. Real love.

RE: Hey! Whatzupwitu.........

Nice to see you at Epinions. Hope you stick around.

By the title, I thought this was a thread at the Eddie Murphy and Michael Jackson song of the same name.

Ha! I may review the album that "whatzupwitu" is featured on soon. Yet another album with some nice tracks. Yeah it was a referance to that song. Good to see someone remembered, even if you hate it!

I actually like that song. The Murphy album wasn't as bad as you'd think.

:) Given his movie career of late, maybe he should give music another shot.

Always in the mountains.....

Eddie put out 2 good albums. "Loves alright" and 1989's "So happy". "So happy" has some superb funky tracks.

Plus his first album has it's moments. Well I like "party all the time" anyway.

Stevie worked with him as well as Rick on that first album. I think the album does have one moment, and you named it.

By the way, I could never find a copy of So Happy. That thing is pretty rare.

RE: ED-DIEEEE!!

I soooo wasn't suggesting it was, but I wanted Garrett to have a bit more incentive if he indeed inclined.

Heh, thanks for the research. I think it's only fun if I stumble upon it at a record store used section for like $2.25. It's all in the find.

RE: ED-DIEEEE!!

Oh no you didn't!!! I love "put your mouth on me". You are right, Iam the only one who still or proberly ever liked the silly song. Sounds like a Morris Day song, but about ten times campier. Narada Michael Walden produced and wrote it. Which explains alot. He wrote Jermaine Stewarts "we dont have to take our clothes off". Awesome song that is too. Both ideal for strip clubs.

He makes a high camp song like "put your mouth on me" and yet loved making fun out of Michael Jackson, prince etc at the time for being so feminine. I know Eddie was only teasing and you know Eddie loved them guys. Infact, he loved feminine looking men a little too much LOL.
