Ok, wireless is nowhere near my area of expertise and I'm looking for some help.

We set up a wireless network, Linksys router, desktop is wired and Dell laptop using wireless. Hooked up and connected fine.

Then we started having trouble with the laptop losing connection, actually the network would actually disappear from the wireless network list, this was happening every few days, then it was happening every day. We thought maybe it was the radio in the laptop. Test my daughters laptop with the router and had the same problem.

Got a different router, Netgear, first few days, it worked fine and then the same thing started happening with both laptops. Now they will lose the connection and network, three and four times a day. Laptops are only about five to six feet away from the router.

Could there be interference from something? I am at a loss with this, two different laptops, two different routers and it just seems to be getting worse.

Is it unsecured? If it is then someone maybe using it without your permission and is causing traffic. Copy and paste this into Google: "How to check who is using a router OR how to secure a router SITE:go.pcmag.com" use everything within the quotation marks. Rember to remove the marks.
