This was my second Misfits concert in less than a year! This time around, the boys did not share the headliner. The three bands opening for the masters of mayhem were so horrible that most of the fans were getting restless waiting for the Misfits to take stage (Hot Water Music were alwright).

After waiting for almost an hour, the curtain opened and we witnessed the Crimson Ghost wheel a gothic TV set in front of us. What followed was some five minutes of horror movie clips (ranging from the early days up to today) accompanied by some unknown song.

The band took stage soon afterward and what ensued would be enshrined in my memory as one of the most important concerts I have witnessed. Michale Graves announced how great it was to play in front of a crowd that likes to hear them play (did something happen a few days before?). The band played more aggressively than I remembered them playing ten months ago and stormed through a great set of music. Michale Graves made an early announcement that this would be his last tour with the Misfits and that his last concert would be on Halloween. This time around, 'Saturday Night' was heavier as the band seemed somewhat irrate.

Doyle walked off stage half an hour into the set (a bit pi**ed at Graves' announcement and needing to fix the sound as I would find out a week after). Jerrry Only then announced that the band would play 'We Are 138' in memory of a lost loved one. Michale soon walked up to Dr. Chud, and after saying "Whats up Chud", both walked off stage- never to return.

Jerry Only was the only one left on stage and made a few comments about how he would continue the band "no matter what those guys think". He talked about how the band formed and how much it meant to him before doing "We Are 138" solo on his bass while all of us sang along. He continue his great relationship and interaction with the fans by doing a back-flip off the stage and onto the crowd (I though they would drop his muscle clad ass...hehe).

When it became clear that the others would not return, Jerry Only started signing autographs and promised a return with "the best god-damn lineup" next year.

I would later find out from Misfits.com that Michale thought that Doyle was pi**ed at him and therefore left the stage after Doyle's then TEMPORARY exit to fix the sound offstage. Michale quit the band that night and the Misfits continued their Halloween tour without him. I KNEW I should have RECORDED that concert (they barely pat you down).

Nevertheless I continue to love the Misfits, wish Michale good luck, and can't wait to join Jerry and his Misfits next year here in Orlando...and I hope that they will play 'Skulls' next time around (they did not perform my fav Misfits tune during either of my two concerts)
