This is a REPOSTED EPINION, THANKS FOR READING! I am here to admit that I am a DIE HARD "LYNYRD SKYNYRD" fan and my daughters know all the lyrics to as many of their songs as I do!
My 15 year old's favorite SKYNYRD song is "Free Bird".....the lyrics go like this...If I leave here tomorrow, Would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, cause there's too many places I've got to see..If I stay here with you girl, things just couldn't be the same.......I'm as free as a bird now, and this bird you cannot changeeee!
No wonder my oldest is so moved by these heartfelt lyrics, I get a tingling up my spine every time I listen to this song.
My middle daughter(13) loves "GIMMEE THREE STEPS"....also written and sang by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Goes like this.....I was cutting a rug down at a place called THE JUG, with a girl named Linda Lou, when in walked a man with a gun in his hand and he was a looking for you know who! He said hey there fellow with the hair colored yellow, whatcha trying to prove, cause that's my woman there and I'm a man who cares and this might be all for you!...It's a faster paced song than Freebird, but it's a great one all the same.
Now, my youngest daughter(10) loves all the SKYNYRD hits and she has no particular favorite. All of this is okay by me, cause most of Skynyrd's songs are just plain fun and they all have a TRUE story behind them! Where some kids today would rather listen to the rap or hip-hop, mine dig Skynyrd.....and I'm real PROUD of that! After all, Skynyrd has always been and will always be......My favorite band!!!
