the next 10

Well these are my next favorite ten.

10. raekwon- only built 4 cuban linx
the best wu solo album besides the rza's, who did most of the beats. the good thing about this album is that you get rae and ghost on about every track. rae's always on point and he flows with the beats great. highlights include ice cream man, wu-gambinos(check the remix) knucklheadz and about every other track
9. 2pac- me against the world
classic 2pac before he moved over a coast. this may be even more heartfelt than makveli, but its a close call. every track is great, no need for fast forward on this one. features the classic dear mama. all the songs portray a very intelligent side of pac. a must have for 2pac fans
8. cru- da dirty 30
doesnt really have 30 full songs, but the full ones are great. the first half of the album is classic, but it does fall off after the track ebonics, which is the best track, with a great verse by ras kass. other guest appearances include the lox and black rob a few times. chadeo is the best lyricist of the group. yogi provides the beats and some good verses and the mighty ha is like the odb of the group, coming with some crazy stuff to mix it up. a great album
7. arsonists- as the world burns
the hardest working underground group finally drops their album, and i wasnt disappointed. it contains the radio legends blaze and the session, as well as sh*t aint sweet and pyromaniax. my favorite track is venom. if you like that, try to find the original 12" version, its even better
all the beats are wonderfuol, you can tell how much they worked on this one. great insightful lyrics as well.
6. mf doom- operation doomsday
this is a good change. mostly old sampled 80's songs that you'll probably recognize, but they all work, this is a smooth album and mf doom has got lyrics. if you like it, check out KMD.
5. rza as bobby digital
love him or hate him, this is a great album. it does fall off a little in the last few tracks, but songs like holocaust. bobby did it, nyc everything make up for it. the best track is mantis by far. masta killa drops a great verse, in his own style, only outdone by about every verse on holocaust, theres no raekwon, deck or gza, which was disappointing, but everyone does a good job. and of coarse rza brings the beats on every track.
4. dr. dooom- first come first served
not much like dr. octagon, but still really good. many of the beats are the same, but they are all good. the guests, jacky jasper and motion man bring the best verses alongside keith, who actually has something to say this time, good album
3. polyrhythm addicts- rhyme related
a little short, only 10 tracks, but all of them shine, its hard to pick a favorite, but i think my fav is take me home, with pharoah monche's hook that is dope, shabaam sahdeeq always brings the best verse and apani b fly is the best female mc out there right now
2. lyricist lounge volume 1
this is pure hip hop, no gangsterisms. AL's song Lyrics is one of the most amazing lyrical showacases ive heard in a long time. the freestyles are great, everys song is great and de la soul, kool keith and sir menelik hold it down as hosts as well. check mayday by natural elements, society by problemz andno matter by prime, and thats just a start.
1. Common-like water for chocolate
at first i was very disappointed in this album, but now it my favorite, maybe even more than his last one. the more i listen to any of the songs, the more i like it. my favorite track is nag champa. this is a revoltionary album, go pick it up.
