like oh my gosh , like oh my gosh, like oh my gosh!!
Enough already!! I am really disturbed by the trend in pop music today of putting an 18 year
old into the spotlight based on the fact she dresses like a tramp/vixen in one video and then
tries to pull off the girl next door look in the next video. I apologize for my tirade but my
blood is boiling over the latest Britney Spears offering which is a video/b movie entitled
"Oops... I did it again"
DID WHAT??

Ms. Spears what did you do again?? All you did is put out another video in which you are
scantily clad and making your best attempt to land some acting roles. Its not that I am
jealous it is just that I can see right through your devious or is it your management
devious plan?? Whatever the case may be the fact is that I believe you have some talent
but it is not evident in this video.
THE CONCEPT
-----------
In "Oops..I did it" the video starts off with a space dude finding a Britney artifact. The visual
effect off the space dude flying in space is fine but are we too believe that 2000 years from
now people will know who Britney is?? C'mon!! As we move along in this space adventure,
Britney appears in this cherry red leather or is it latex outfit. I didn't know if I should laugh or
cry!! She doesn't fill it out very well at all but thats beside the point!! She is only 18 and I
don't think that she should be selling herself as a sex object. The video culminates with
Brtiney meeting up with the space dude and he presents her with the artifact. This is the
point where she tries acting and in my opinion she should stick to singing. During the video
we also get to see Britney spread out on a table, lying there in a very short dress. I guess
my point is that this video isn't really about the song, rather its about selling an image and I
don't have a problem with playboy selling there images because that the business their in but
this girl is barely (pardon the pun) 18 years old!!
THE SONG

As for the song itself, it is a typical Spears song with the catchy chorus and the 3 verses
talking about her former lover and the appropriate line in which she sings "I'm not that
innocent. The fact is that this song is not inspiring , it does not have amazing lyrics nor a
message to send to the listener. It is just there to accompany a video that is geared
towards ensuring that Britney continues to sell, sell, sell. Ultimately, this song will be
overplayed, remixed and remixed again but it is far from a classic. If we compare it too "Baby
One More Time" the difference is that the latter was none, it was her first song and
everyone thought it was cute and innocent but this is getting out of hand.
CONCLUSION
----------
Ms. Spears appropriately states that she's "not so innocent" and that is as true as today is
Monday. The fact is she is no dummy and she has a master plan. Even if she is being
controlled by management the fact is she is a performer and is obviously willing to do
anything she can to make a buck. I will say that she is making more money than I ever will
and she is probably having about as much fun in life as one could but I think when she looks
back on how she sold out and lost her integrity she will be one unhappy camper!!
