Pros: Danceable tracks and one nice "a capella" track. Highly recommended.
Cons: Just a note to *NSYNC - stick with singing and get away from rapping!

Like so many other consumers, I was eagerly awaiting the time when the new album by the five gentlemen that make up the pop supergroup, *NSYNC, would be available for sale.
Well, after my initial excitement wore off, it was time to go beyond listening to the album and try to generate some opinions of the group's new album.
The new album is definitely a new take on the music you are used to hearing from them. It has more of an edge to the music and the lyrics. There is noticeable growth in the group's production of the songs, choice of songs and overall feel on the album. The fact that the guys got more involved in the creation of the album shows in the final product.
The first three tracks, "Bye Bye Bye", "It's Gonna Be Me", and "Space Cowboy" (featuring TLC's LeftEye) show the group's new edgy side, and it comes across well as danceable tracks with an interesting syncopation in the rhythms used.
"Just Got Paid" is the guys' cover of track from sometime in the '80s (not sure who sang it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Cameo), and it works well for them. They've kept the lyrics and music flowing and added a modern beat to it...it works!
"It Makes Me Ill" is *NSYNC's foray into the world of rap, and this may be the weakest song on the album in terms of marketability, production and variety. The fact that they've tried to use a "rap" style song on their album comes as another shocker, and while it may be interesting to listen to, it is usually the one track I fast forward thru.
*NSYNC wouldn't be *NSYNC without their trademark ballads, and this album sports three (3) new songs that will surely be heard during the coming prom season: "This I Promise You", "That's When I'll Stop Loving You", and "I Thought She Knew". All are done extremely well, and the vocal arrangements show through on "I Thought She Knew", which is recorded a capella (without the aid of instruments). Easily my favorite, "I Thought She Knew" would be a likely candidate for the next track release.
The cover title, "No Strings Attached" goes back to the tough attitude displayed in the album's first three songs, so if you liked the first song, you'll love this one.
"Digital Get Down", "Bringin Da Noise", and "I'll Be Good For You" complete the album, and if you wanted some filler material, these songs will do it.
Overall, the sound and production on this album were done well, and the songs chosen for release were chosen to portray a different image for the guys, although some different songs could have been included on the album. One track missing from this album is the boys and Gloria Estefan singing "Music of My Heart". That would have been an excellent choice track to include, but alas, it has been left off.
This album will hold over all the kids that wanted more *NSYNC material, and until their next album comes out, this will have to do. I hear that they perform some songs in their concerts that are not on either of their CDs, so if you want to hear and see them at their best, a concert setting would probably be the best. Otherwise, this second album will be as close to a concert as you can get. A solid piece of work, this album is rated "E" for everyone, so get it and give a listen to. Your kids may thank you! :-)'
