Heavenly: Amelia Fletcher (vocals, guitar); Cathy Rogers (vocals, keyboards); Pete Momtchiloff (guitar); Rob Pursey (bass); Matthew Fletcher (drums). Combining two British singles into one five-song EP, Heavenly's P.U.N.K. GIRL contains some of the Oxford quintet's very best songs. The title track is particularly exhilarating, putting an old pop gimmick to clever new use in its alphabetical exclamations of "P is for the pain she makes me feel some days / U is for Utopia, the other times with her." "Atta Girl" is an intricate example of singers Amelia Fletcher and Cathy Rogers' talent for simultaneously singing two completely different melodies. The contradictory lines create a sublime tension that is masterfully released when the singer's voices join on the defiant chorus.
