The initial problem with an album put out by the Wu-Syndicate might be that with so many different extensions branching out of the Wu Tang family tree, it's hard to hear a new offering of Wu-affiliated lyricists and not have that "been there, done that" feeling. On the flipside, such familiarity can also be a good thing since it means that most likely, you'll hear sprinklings of the original Wu members' influence on this album...which for any loyal Wu fan, is not such a bad thing. MYALANSKY and JOE MAFIA provide listeners with both sides of the coin. Even though none of the original clan members (with the exception of RZA who has executive producer credits) appear on the album, there are enough up-to-par beats and lyrics to satisfy your average Wu junkie as well as hip hop fan.
