This 1960 Henry Hathaway western with John Wayne and Stewart Granger as partners in the gold rush in Alaska. George(Stewart Granger) is pinning for his lost love that awaits his fortune in Washington, so he sends Sam (Wayne) after her, to bring her out to the gold fields to be his bride.
Problems starts when Sam gets a little too involved with a substitute for George's lady. It seems the real girlfriend got herself married. So Sam lucks onto another french girl and takes her to Alaska. Naturally Billy(Fabian) the young brother of George falls for the girl too.
Capucine is delightfully wonderful as George's replacement bride. But she only has eyes for Sam and even though our villain Ernie Kovacks wants her too, Sam finally gets his gal when he admits he'd rather have her than all the gold in Alaska.
This movie is full of laughs, great scenery, and the delightful song that made Johnny Horton famous, "North to Alaska".
If you like rip-roarin' fun, you'll love this western, it's got it all. You won't believe the mud. With an all star cast, you can't lose.
