Good blasting! Unfortunately I am only familiar with three of them, but I will save myself the trouble of searching out the other two, you said enuf for me! And, oh yeah, Blair Witch? Shoulda been ranked right down there with Titanic!

p.s. Guess it is a good thing you and mkp51 only listed 5 movies to make up for my 15....lol

Hi Mike,
Who is Kevin Costner anyway??? I would boycott him too but I never rent his movies or go see him on the big screen anyway. Guess I already had a boycott in place!
And the Stupids was the absolute worst rental I ever had. I kept waiting and waiting and am still waiting to laugh. The only funny line was when he sang I'm my own grandfather (or something like that).
Hey lets get together next time in Marquette and do Slapshot, eh....

Blair Witch....I'm glad I'm not the only one.... (Reply to this comment)

who hated this flick. I nearly ran screaming from the theater, not from fear but from disgust.
And I'm sorry, but there is nothing scary about piles of rocks.

about the Omega Code! Don't bother with Left Behind either...it was just as bad! With the book series of Left Behind being so successful and so great, I can't believe they didn't do a better job with the movie. It's a crying shame too.

How could I not HR this? (Reply to this comment)
by tjarnold
You mentioned my husband's name twice! Yes, unfortunately, my husband shares a name with the infamous actor and former spouse of Roseanne. It's rare that I get a remark about my husband's name these days, but when I do, I usually try to manage a weak grin.
Great review, of course.

I'm happy to say I've never seen any of these 5, roadiem! =) Great review though, as I certainly am glad I was never tempted to see them (all that hype about The Blair Witch Project only made me want to AVOID it even more!).
Sincerely,

Hey! I liked The Stupids! (Reply to this comment)
by anderclayton
Heh heh:)
Granted I was a bit drunk when I watched it but I thought it was pretty funny at the time... I agree with your list otherwise though and have seen most of them (A Perfect World *cringe* several times--I have seen a lot of movies several times from that period... I was on Cruise on an aircraft carrier watching movies on their closed circuit tv and have seen too many movies over and over--I must have seen Basic Instinct fifteen times).
I haven't seen The Omega Code but *sigh* probably will eventually--my brother wants to see it and am living with him right now...
Neat review.

So where are the Peril of Gwendoyl and Supergirl? (Reply to this comment)

Perhaps you were fortunate enough to miss these. I had a friend in high schoold that had a knack for taking me to see THE worst films of the 80's. How did you get stuck watching these? Just wondering!

I got stuck watching these by relying on now non-credible advice. Advertising hype and box office draws are no indicator. Word of mouth is somewhat un-reliable, find a movie reviewer you have the same taste as, and use that as your touchstone. But suffice it to say....... Just say NO to these 5

You'd have been even more scared if you plopped down $9.99 for a copy of this dog thinking you were buying a classic scary movie to pull out when in the mood to be frightened!

He has a very entertaining way with words. Great visual descriptions and tells it like it is. I truly respected his opinions even if I didn't necessarily agree with them all.

Good Call on "Blair Witch" ! (Reply to this comment)
by andre98
I can't find fault in the concept and I like the rags to riches story of making a movie that comes out of nowhere. The Hollywood machines need a shake up. But with all the hype surrounding this movie when it was playing the theaters, by the time I saw it, I thought I was in one of those twilight zone episodes where I am the only one sane. I actually started rooting for the unseen villian(s) to spring up and end the whole affair super early. Would that have been unique? After about 30 minutes, closeup of the eyes lit by flashlight, run through woods, the end. Remember the reports of people in the public thinking the film was real, that the film is an actual documentary? I try not to lose faith in the intelligence of mankind, but they make it darn difficult sometimes. I agree with Naphtalia and anyone else that may have thought they were the only ones to not be swayed by the hype. There is hope for us after all.

Kevin Kostner's Worst (Reply to this comment)

I hate Kevin Kostner. It's hard to compare how much one of his movies sucks over the other. However, Waterworld has a far greater stench than A Perfect World.

You are unfair with Perfect World... (Reply to this comment)
by ivdanu
I don't know about the other movies you consider the worst of all times, but I think that you are wrong, totally wrong about A Perfect World which is a honest, if not a lot more, movie... I really wish there would be more films like this one.
The worst movie of all times (till now), on my own list, is "American Psycho", but you did mention a good movie like A Perfect World...

Don't quite get the K.C. diatribe... (Reply to this comment)
by ispeakup
I'm missing something that I guess I should know about Kevin Costner's politics. I had no idea that his religious beliefs factored in the making of "Perfect World." I don't quite understand this aspect of your review. I am not up on todays films, honestly, so a bit more of an explanation might have helped for those of us not in the know.... Interesting choice of films, however....
