One thing I love to watch is something that can make me laugh. Over the years, I have seen so many comedy movies. I even tend to buy these movies on tape just so I could watch it over and over again and laugh. I would like to share with you my input on the top ten comedy movies of all time. Included will be the year the movie was released, the actors/actresses, directors and a brief description of what the movie is about.

1. See No Evil, Hear No Evil is a movie about a blind and deaf guy who witness a murder and become the two prime suspects. They end up on a very hilarious quest to seek the true killers. The stars of this movie are Gene Wilder who plays the deaf guy and Richard Pryor who plays the blind guy. This movie was directed by Arthur Hiller and released in 1989. They go from playing the role of a famous psychologist to riding in the garbage dump over the pacific. You would really enjoy this movie.

2. The Birdcage which starred Robin Williams and Nathan Lane who play a gay couple who own a nightclub. This movie is very funny. Williams' son wants to marry his beloved, played by Calista Flockhart, and he asks his father to play it straight because his future in laws are coming over for dinner. They teach Lane how to be a man so they can impress his sons in laws who are very famous politicians. At the end of the dinner, they all end up dressing up as drag queens to escape the media. This movie is really funny. It was directed by Mike Nichols and Elaine May and released in 1996.

3. My next choice was released in 1998 and starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The Wedding Singer is a about a crazy singer who gigs at weddings and other formal events. He recently got stood up at the alter by his former fiancee. He meets a waitress with whom he becomes very close with and falls in love with. Although she is about to marry a macho drunk, Sandler ends up telling her how he feels on a plane to Vegas and does a great job doing it. Frank Coraci did a great job directing this film.

4. Also starring Adam Sandler, Happy Gilmore was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. This movie is about a guy who dreams of one day becoming a hockey star. He one day discovers that he is much better at playing golf. A retired golf pro and publicist help him to play a better game. He joins a PGA tour to win the prize money he needs to save his grandma's home from being repossessed. This movie is really funny because of Sandler's bad attitude and the different ways that the publicist tries to adjust it. This movie was released in 1996 and directed by Dennis Dugan.

5. In 1986, Roney Dangerfield starred in the very funny file, Back to School. This movie was directed by Alan Metter. It is about a millionaire who decides to enroll in college to encourage his son that school is very important. He makes this movie so funny with how he gets so many people to like him and dislike him. One of my favorite parts is when he argues with his teacher, Sam Kinson, who scream back and forth at each other. This movie is rated pg 13 and more of a family movie.

6. My Cousin Vinny was released in 1992 and was directed by Jonathan Lynn. Actors included Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei. This movie is about two friends who make a pit stop to a restaurant. Upon leaving, someone is murdered and they become wanted criminals. Their only hope is their cousin Vinny who has become a lawyer after taking the Bar exam 8 times. As he tries to defend him, he gets arrested and fined so many times for either arguing with the judge or wearing inappropriate clothing for the trial and it makes this movie very funny and interesting to watch.

7. Dumb and Dumber is about a limousine driver who drops off a woman at an airport. As he watches her walk through the airport, he sees her drop her suitcase, rushes in to get it and drives with his friend, in a milk truck, to bring it to her. But there is one problem. They are being chased by gangstas for whom the suitcase was being dropped with millions of dollars in it. When the mystery of the suitcase is uncovered, they go crazy spending the money. This is a really great movie to watch. And what makes it even funnier is that the leading actors were played by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. This movie was directed by Peter Farrelly and released in 1994.

8. In 1991, Richard Dreyfuss and Steve Murray starred in What About Bob It is about a psychopathic guy who is scared of anything from touching a door knob with his bare hands to letting people get close to him in the street. That is until he meets with his new psychiatrist. After they meet and have a session, Murray's psychiatrist tells him that he will be going on vacation with his family. Murray follows Dreyfus on one of the funniest family vacations I have ever witnessed. This movie is for the entire family to watch.

9. Leslie Nielsen is a very funny guy. Especially in his movie Naked Gun 33 1/3. In this sequel, Lieutenant Frank Drebin finally retires from his police squad and has just married his girlfriend, Priscilla Presley. But he is forced to play cop again when he learns that a group of assassins plan to blow up the Oscars. This very funny movie was directed by Peter Segal and released in 1994.

10. Since there were so many comedy movies that I have loved, it was hard for me to choose one for my last choice but, I have to go with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation which was released in 1989. Stars of this movie include Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo and was directed by John Hughes and Jeremiah Chechik. This is a great family movie to watch around the Christmas Holiday. The plot is about how Clark and Ellen Grizzwald prepare for Christmas for their children and extended family. They end up having family invade their homes, to the cops raiding their house and then gathering around the tree to sing Christmas carols. Best for families to watch.
