Pros: Great acting; wonderful message; in glorious black-and-white! Cons: In glorious black-and-white; might be a bit too preachy for some.
When the Christmas season rolls around, my wife goes absolutely nuts over holiday films. Fortunately, there are a few I tend to watch every year, and convincing my wife to watch them isn't much of a task at all. For years, I've insisted on watching ...

Pros: Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven...feel good story Cons: Dated, and slow-paced, black and white if that bothers you
I watched this movie to see the original version of the movie (THE PREACHER'S WIFE) starring Whitney Houston, and Denzel Washington. While I enjoyed that movie a little, it was a pale second to the original which has the advantage of Cary Grant as...

I am a big fan of Christmas movies and find this to be one of the best of all of them. Yet is really a great flick for any time of the year. Loretta Young and Cary Grant have so much chemistry between them. There is also an innocence and sweetness that...

Cary Grant an angel sent to help out the stressed David Niven.
by funfield ,Dec 27 '04
Pros: One of the great hidden treasure, movies. People have been discovering it in recent years. Cons: This film is pure gold. There is no negative comment .possible..
One of the great hidden-treasure movies, though not so hidden as people keep discovering it and re-discovering it.Cary Grant's most subtle, elegant and heart-felt performance. It isn't sentimental,or corny, and it vibrates with fervent feeling and charm and often genuine wit. Loretta Young and David Niven help create the spirit of the film, along with a particularly beautiful musical score. Screen play, delightful and surprising, is by 4-time Pulitzer prize winner Robert E. Sherwood. And the supporting people are aces, having the chance of their lives.
