Pros: Story, Direction, Eastwood, Supporting Cast Cons: Low budget unfortunately shows
In an early directorial effort, Clint Eastwood caps off his spaghetti western trilogy with a tip of the hat to mentor Sergio Leone. TV star Eastwood (Rawhide) had made his splash on the big screen with the so-called spaghetti western, filmed by an ...

Pros: cutting edge for it's time, the perfect "guy" movie Cons: I didnt really see any.
This is the movie that made me a fan of Clint Eastwood. Not only does he play the character that every man envisions himself as from time to time, but I later discovered he directed this classic as well. There aren't many traditional humor spots in the...

Pros: Eastwood's gaunt and sinister character; his direction; total on-location cinematography Cons: A somewhat objectionable rape scene
Having made a great debut behind the camera (as well as in front of it) with the 1971 suspense thriller PLAY MISTY FOR ME, Clint Eastwood found a way to return to the kind of role that made him an international superstar in the first place--the mythical ...

Pros: Captures Leone's take on the West quite successfully to a certain degree, classic Eastwood character. Cons: Extremely dark, morbid. Too much of an emphasis on the word anti-hero.
High Plains Drifter was a very dark, morbid western directed by Clint Eastwood, who also starred in it. Much unlike his work with Sergio Leone in such late western epics as Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, ...

Pros: Story, Performances, best ending i've ever seen. Cons: Misogynistic undercurrents.
Westerns are an interesting genre of film. With a little effort, they can be stretched to encompass almost any other genre. Action films, romance, comedy, drama, there's no question the American Southwest circa the late 1800's was a great place for it...

Pros: One helluva story and an eerie ending make this movie a classic. Cons: The violence is graphic, along with a rape scene some will find objectionable.
I've only recently figured out the value of a good western. I really like watching them. I have to ask myself why. Perhaps it is the hero in me wanting to creep out, but instead I form a nice derriere-shaped dent in the couch. Whatever the reason, I...

Pros: story, characters, script, direction, cast Cons: sexual assault presented as comedy, violent
Clint Eastwood made his debut as director with Play Misty For Me, a 1971 film that introduced the then-original concept of a female stalker. His first Western as a director was even more controversial.
High Plains Drifter...

Pros: Another great Eastwood hand of vengeance story! Cons: Parts might be a bit too dark for todays PC viewers.
While you can never take a spaghetti western too seriously, you can still appreciate the message and even find some higher meaning. As with every Clint Eastwood western, "High Plains Drifter" is no exception. Backstory......The people of a small ...

Pros: Good story Cons: Hard to find for sale
When you are at the video store you usually don't find yourself saying, "Hmm, I really want to see a Clint Eastwood Western flick tonight." But with this movie out on the shelf of your local movie rental store you should.

Pros: Original, entertaining, played by a well-known actor Cons: underdevelopment of some characters
High Plains Drifter, a 1973 movie starring and directed by Clint Eastwood, is far from the typical Western film of the mid-twentieth century. In the film, the fictional mining town of Lago is not portrayed as previous Western films have portrayed the ...

Pros: Great role for Clint. Cons: None
I've seen all of his movies and I think this one best fits the personality of Clint Eastwood. I don't think it was intended to be a comedy, but if you like Clint Eastwood, you'll get a kick out of his confrontations with cowardly men and mouthy women....
