Pros: A Corman quickie with a dark sense of humor Cons: Only if you don't like to laugh
In 1959, Roger Corman, a leading name in low-budget cinema, shot the film "A Bucket Of Blood" in just five days. Legend has it that someone bet Corman that he couldn't make a film in half that time. Corman not only collected on that bet, but he created a...
I've always greatly admired director Roger Corman's ingenuity as a filmmaker. Corman, who camoes in Joe Dante's The Howling as a guy enters the booth of a pay phone and immediately looks under the little tab to see if the last guy didn't pick up ...
Pros: The script, the actors, the plot. Cons: Well, the effects weren't the best.
Gravis Mushnik is a Skid Row florist who’s barely keeping his head above water. His assistant Seymour is a clumsy kid who can’t seem to get his stuff together. When Mushnik finally fires the kid, Seymour begs for one more chance, insisting he’s got a ...
Pros: As far as camp goes, it's rarely been better or funnier. Cons: Roger Corman's best efforts can't hide a 'take a penny, leave a penny' budget.
Earlier this fall, Simply_Crispy proposed an idea for his first write-off: Expunged from their C.V. The rules were that you can review any movie so long that has, in a supporting role, a cameo or a glimpse, an actor who went on to be a...
Pros: Super Ultra Low Budget Cult Classic. Cons: Super Ultra Low Budget, Cinematography, Lighting

For those who like their comedy black, with no cream or sugar, "The Little Shop of Horrors" is for you. Filmed in two days with a cast of unknowns, with a script written in under a week, and featuring a story about a talking man-eating plant,...
Pros: It's a classic Cons: The colorized version blows
This movie is something of beauty. Where to start. Well...
The sheer simplicity of this movie is great. It was filmed within a 24 Hour period, so they had to either get everything on the first or second take, or they had to go with what...
Pros: odd, interesting plot, simple characters well acted Cons: made in 1960, so filming has some minor problems, and it's very dark sometimes
I can't get over how much I loved this movie, it's so great! First of all, it's just plain hilarious. It's sort of like "Young Frankenstein," except that I don't think they purposely tried making it funny. It doesn't exactly have individual...
This movie is great for any cheesy cult classic loving movie fan! The movie is about a plant that comes to life and constantly says "Feed Me!" All the characters in the movie are very colorful and funny. By no means is this movie scary; it is funny. Great movie if you liked the other cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Pros: Good conversational piece. Cons: Best characters had the least screen time.
I rented "Little Shop of Horrors" expecting a humorous, well developed plot - that's not what I saw. It was obviously low budget which must have been the deciding factor in choosing the crew (most of them couldn't act) and the audio was really hard to hear.
I would recommend seeing this show in a community theatre with actors you know so the humor is better taken. Nicholson had a great/convincing performance, but he was the only cast member that really stood out.
