Pros: Plenty of scenery chewing, and a truly demented series idea. Cons: Twisted. Very twisted.
Let's meet the Fishers, a typical dysfunctional family in modern day Los Angeles. Mom, Dad and the kids. Nathaniel Fisher (Richard Jenkins) - Dad - works hard all day, drumming up business, smoking too much, and slipping the occasional smoke when he...

Pros: Original, Strong Cast, Interesting Character Development, Expect the Unexpected Cons: Subject matter may be offensive to some viewers
If you have not tuned in on this HBO series yet, consider yourself forewarned, this show is not for the fainthearted. This bizarre series is jam packed with sexually explicit trysts (both heterosexual and homosexual), graphic death scenes, vulgar...

Pros: Great cast, constantly moving storyline Cons: Can be graphic at times, focus a little too strong on gay issues
I really love this show and have seen every episode except for most of the first one. It is about a family that runs a funeral home. In the first episode, the father dies and leaves the business to his sons. He leaves behind 2 sons, a teenage...

Pros: The acting and the ever improving story lines. Revolving guest stars. Cons: Their business is death, the guest stars disappear faster than Murphy Brown's Secretaries
Now that the first season has come to an end, I feel that I can give Six Feet Under an appropriate opinion. Like reading a good book or watching a classic movie, you have to see episodic television from the beginning of the season till the bitter...

Pros: In General The Acting, Characters, Strength of Writing Cons: Several of Peter Krause's Deliveries, Plot Inconsistencies, Price
I have enjoyed Peter Krause's work since he first appeared on "Cybil" and so when the former "Sports Night" (reviewed at: ht

Pros: Visually, emotionally stimulating. Somehow entertains while depicting the realities of death and dying Cons: Depicts the realities of death and dying.
I just finished watching the season finale of the first season of Six Feet Under, an HBO original series. I have a medical background I’ve worked in hospital laboratories and I even watched an autopsy once, but I haven’t had much personal experience...

Pros: Wonderful odd(in a good way) plot line, cast is full of personality, Uncensored Cons: May be too graphic for some, maybe difficult understand if starting from the middle
The creator of the movie "American Beauty" Takes his talent to the 'small screen'. In fact it's anything but small, it's like watching a mini-movie every week, I look forward to it and as the season finale nears I'm really excited, but sad to see the new...

Pros: Characters, plot, pacing, cast. Cons: Overly addictive.
Six Feet Under sounds like a fairly interesting concept. The story is about dysfunctional family which includes Nate, Ruth, Nate Jr., David, and Claire. Nate Jr. lives in Seattle until the first episode shown where he comes for a visit but while his...

Pros: Fabulously bizarre and real. Iluminates the meaning and essence of life while provoking intense emotion. Cons: The subject matter can be offensive, and very sexually risque--controversial.
Ladies and Gents I’m currently coming down from my high of last weeks dose of Six Feet Under. The with drawl pains are unbearable...I’m craving the next episode. To try to calm these addictive pangs I have decided to write about this...I guess I would...

Pros: Basically everything. Cons: Graphic imagery.
When I saw the preview even before the series started I was interested in the series. The characters seemed very, very, very interesting. The story I was clueless about. When I watched episode 1 I immediately wanted more. Six Feet Under turned out...

Pros: Best Drama on TV - Hands down - Fascinating on many levels Cons: None
What a stellar first season. This is a premier drama that only shows on HBO. A drama that resides in a home mortuary - how original and compelling is that! Even though death is a major theme, it never comes across as ghoulish. The begining of each ...

Pros: Brilliant, one of the best shows ever Cons: Too morbid for some people's tastes
Words can hardly express my excitement regarding this show. I simply loved every second of it! The intrigue is rich, the characters - well-drawn and constantly improving, filled with sarcasm. Also, the direction, writing and acting are absolutely ...

Great Show-Totally Different
by canteengirl ,Mar 01 '08
Pros: Different type of show from the ordinary. Origional storyline. Cons: A morbid plot and show but give it a chance and you will be adicted.
If you are looking for something totally different....this is a series for you. Some great characters and storylines. One of my favorite series and highly recommend it. Once you start watching this one you will be buying all the seasons for sure. This is not for the youngsters or squimish types though. I give this one a two thumbs up.

Deadly Funny
by dearabbs ,Oct 08 '04
Pros: Many compelling story lines and a great comedic element mixed together. Cons: A bit graphic. Not a family series for the younger crowd.
This show really captured me. I did not get familiar with it when it was on cable but was introduced to it by my Mom. I then just rented the season all together and this proved to be a great way to watch this series.
The characters in the program all have very realistic views on life and their situations, yet are all enriched with fruitful imaginations as well. (Referring to their encounters with the dearly departed.)
It is nice to see a family with such a realistic dynamic. They all suffer from similar problems and choose to take different directions to try to understand their place in this world as they guide other families through the grieving process.
This show also combines drama and dark comedy cleverly and is able to reach a wide age range which can be hard these days in television programming.
I am looking very forward to the third season to come out on DVD.
