| bassoongod's Full Review: Minneapolis Star Tribune |
I am certainly a conservative man, and this paper, the most read in my area, is not one that serves my interest. Sure, I might read it for the comics, news of the weird, or a few other things. But I cannot read the rest.
The Star does have a few articles of interest, but after a local problem with them going against light rail, and then changing their mind and backing the project that was supposed to only generate $.48 for every dollar spent, and that would be $8 a ride to go a few miles (i.e. a bad thing for the twin cities) and they backed it because some of the major tracks were to run through the paper's headquarters, and they were up for making a lot of money. Since then, in my eyes, they have lost all credibility in news. At least MN is seeming to go against light rail, although the Star is still for it... MINDOT (our transportation board) doesn't like it, but Jessie, our govenor does... the pulic doesn't, as polls have shown, but again, it is a good thing, as the paper goes at least.
Note to Star: the news is about telling the story, not benefiting from it!
I no longer subscribe... I think you can see why.
