I first began subscribing to USA Today when the local paper went on strike. It was a big improvement. I am not going to say that it is the best newspaper, but it is pretty good. The coverage is sometimes focussed on unimportant issues. For example, the cover story is usually about some insignificant problem. The second and third pages contain the information that I want.
USA Today is a paper for those who want to know what is happening in the world but who do not want to spend a great deal of time in doing so. It is also comprehensive; the Money, Sports, and Life sections make it easy to get all the information you want in a single newspaper. The layout includes lots of pictures and graphics, increasing the readability of the text. Overall, it is a good paper for the money.
