In the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, you have two choices of newspaper. The two choices are the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Clearly, the better choice is the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Having lived in the Twin Cities for 8 years now and read both newspapers quite regularly for a long time, I finally decided that this was the better choice of the two. For starters, the sports coverage of the Star Tribune FAR FAR outweights the Pioneer Press. In fact, one could go as far as to say that the sports coverage of the Pioneer Press lags behind even some small-town newspapers without major sports teams. It is quite similar in the news coverage as well, with one exception. The Star Tribune is ahead of the Pioneer Press except in local coverage. The Pioneer Press offers a few different editions the cover each area of the Twin Cities differently. However, this is the only REAL advantage I can see that puts the Pioneer Press over the Star Tribune. Overall, the Star Tribune has better coverage, better writing, and is a better newspaper.
