| Anas_Hassan's Full Review: Cisco 1600 Series Routers |
If you read any of other opinions, you know that I work for Cisco, the 1600 series is one of the best router series that Cisco has made, and if you know anything about Cisco you know that they are the best in routers. This router series was designed for small to medium businesses and nothing more or less. When this series came out there was such excitement in the networking field that it is hard to describe it was just one of those things in life that you just have to be there to know the feeling.
If you are new to the networking field you don’t have to worry, because the Cisco 1600 series is one of the easiest things to learn, this was the first router series that I worked on, and I was shocked to see how easy it was operate this router series. However there is one thing that is very important about this series is that it is only for small to medium businesses, and if you are trying to run more that 50 computer on this router you will flood the buffers which will crash your router, and that will in most cases get you fired, because your boss will not be to happy when the whole network goes down. So please take this advise from me if you have more than 50 computers, don’t use this router series.
The best thing about this series is that if use these router properly you should have no problem with the router or any of its components, and Cisco backs all its routers with a 3 year on site warranty and if you live Houston you can see me in person. These routers do not needed to be stacked, because if you do will cause damage to the routers, and make it unsafe for anyone to work near the routers, because there would be chance of them falling on you.
The 1600 series uses the IOS (Internetwork Operating System) which is like the windows of routing, and makes programming a router easy, and which is the very widely used operating system for routing it uses the TCP/IP model.
