SDI Certification

I learned in the beginning that PADI is the way the world learns to dive. I later realized that I was as good as my instructor. I have had exceptional instructors in my diver education and others who were adequate.
Recently I was introduced to Scuba Diving International/Technical Diving International and did an instructor crossover. It was not a difficult decision for me and the instructor crossover was not very involved.
SDI also has a standardized course and all the safety aspects that PADI has. I like PADI and enjoy teaching the certification but SDI gives me back some of the freedom to teach the skills with flexibility and some sound judgement. I can teach computer assist in open water. I don't have to go over the dive tables or the wheel and hope that my student doesn't forget what to do before they have the opportunity to dive again. I have taken out the risk of human error and simplified their dealing with nitrogen absorption. The Navy dive table appears in the text and is used as a planning tool for computer assist diving. SDI offers the same levels of diver education as PADI and other certification agencies but I can certify Assistant Instructor with not further training and SDI makes for an easy transition into the more technical aspects of diving that TDI covers.
I am new to tech diving and hope to meet another great instructor to further my diving education.
My greatest desire is turn out good divers who know how to remain within safe guidelines and I truly hope they view me later in their diving education as more than adequate.
