Soap

Jun 01 '00

Yes, soap. You need it daily. You can't go camping without it. My absolute favorite is Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile Soap. I used it all the way through U.S. Marine Corps boot camp. It was only one thing to carry, it didn't break or get covered with muck when I dropped it, and it was much faster when time was of the essence (which it always is in boot camp). It is much more convenient then bar soap and eliminates the need to carry multiple products. You can use it for your hair, skin, dishes and clothes. In a pinch you can brush your teeth with it. I prefer toothpaste myself. You can wash your bike with it. This is important in mud covered locations. It is a mild bug repellant, so you don't have to use DEET until the bugs are unbearable. Plus, I don't want to cover my 3-year-old with DEET anyway. I love this stuff!
