You hunt, the Government LAUGHS!

Mar 22 '00

The Government would love to see everybody hunt. Oh, they might say otherwise to be politically correct, but secretly they do. Because emphasis on hunting as one of the primary uses of firearms will eventually weaken this society in the event of a tyrannical Government.

Before I go any further, I should explain what the Second Amendment was intended for. The Second Amendment's original intention was to give U.S. citizens the right to bear arms ( this covers not only firearms, but any weapons ), in the event a Government comes to power that threatens our basic freedoms. In that event, we have the right and DUTY to rise up and overthrow that government. With this in mind, it is therefore our Duty as U.S. citizens to own a firearm. Wait, Greenpeace members don't NR me yet, I'm not finished!

Hunting was included in a clause in the Second Amendment because, at the time of writing, frontiersmen needed to hunt for food. Now that we have microwaves and supermarkets that need no longer exists. That's why hunting is now called a sport. A sport can be taken lightly by the Government, and can be legislated to death. The Government can ( and eventually will ) say "Well, you can hunt just as effectively with a bow and arrow, can't you? Yes. So why do we need guns?".

Don't shake your head at me, you've already seen the start of this. We no longer have the right to hunt ( i.e. OWN ) automatic weapons, only semi-automatic weapons. Even that one reduction has hurt us. How well do you think you would fare against a Marine armed with an M-16, when your carrying an AR-15? You wouldn't fare well, I'd imagine. That was only the first reduction of the Second Amendment. I forecast that, at this rate, in 50 years people will only have the right to arm themselves with bows and muskets ( because that's all we need to hunt and scare the occasional burglar with, right? ). At that point, this populace will be totally at the mercy of our government.

So, by all means, keep hunting. Just make sure that you don't kill too big a deer as a trophy. You'll want a light trophy to run with when Marshall law is declared!

P.S- In regards to the comments I'm getting on this piece:

1.) Hunting is not always an animal rights issue, those of you who feel it is in my opinion have a very narrow vision of the world.

2.) rate this opinion on the basis of good grammar and spelling, as you would any other editorial.

3.) This is not a Government conspiracy editorial, I'm just writing in response to some growing trends in America. I watch C-Span often, and have some up to date info. on the matter. Thank you.
