What to Buy and How to Pack.

Planning a camping trip is like planning to move, you have to be prepared for almost any situation. Above all have contingency plans for any given situation. Now what to buy, that is the question you will ask yourself as soon as you decide where and for how long. There is no such thing as being too prepared on a camping trip. Depending on what kind of trip it is whether it is in the back 40 of your Uncle's farm, or in a National Wilderness area. The very first thing we need to make sure we have is an ample first aid kit, numero uno! (again depending on where you go.) A snake bite kit is a very good thing to have and never the need to have to use it. Emergency survival equipment is something to consider. all weather matches, a small mirror, day glow appearal i.e. hat, gloves, jacket, or a handerchief. Now, next your concern is food. Freeze dried food is a must for the camper that is ruffing it. M.R.E.'s (military meals ready to eat are easily obtainable from most Army,Navy surplus stores. For that matter you can pick up alot of the supplies there. We also want to be able to have fun enough to bring back those stories to our friends and family. So take a modest camera. Take some pictures to help you tell the story of your trip. Remember, don't disturb any thing that is living. Leave those things alone to enjoy in the future, and only disturb what you have to, for your survival. Camping in a small group is great fun that you will remember for all the rest of your life. So plan wisely. Pack lightly. Disturb only slightly.
