Archos AV120 MP3 Player

I bought my Archos AV120 MP3 Player about 7 months ago. I bought it thinking that Archos was a good company with good products. Man, was I wrong. I've been forced to send in my Archos AV120 MP3 Player 4, yes, 4 separate times because of manufacturer defects. I live in Illinois, and every time I send in my Archos to their tech support to be repaired, I have to wait 3 weeks (at a minimum) before I get my Archos back. I'm not very happy at all about this. To anyone thinking of investing a good amount of money into this company's products... here's my advice: get an iPod or anything else... just don't get an Archos. You'll be extremely unhappy that you did.

Pros: Sound Quality is above average, the LCD is very clear, better deal then an Ipod.
Cons: Battery Life is poor,too bulky for physical activity's, fragile.

I got mine for $207 with a 1 year extended warranty, for the price it just cant be beat.

Sound Quality - Is the best I have heard in a portable player, frequency response is very good for a portable and it can reproduce them very accurately.

Portability - its not huge but its not small. It’s barely pocket size and does not get caught on the cloth lining your pockets.

Visual Quality - Its a very small and low res LCD but its surprisingly crisp and clear, I have no problem seeing every thing when watching movie's on the go

Durability - It was built very well but like all HDD's, its a bit on the fragile side, this is not a product that you want to go jogging with and be careful not to drop it cause it might take away from the players short life span.

Battery Life - 8 hours with MP3's, 6 hours with video. Its got a horrible battery life but at least you don't have to buy battery's for it since it has a rechargable Lithium-ion battery built in.

Pros: Great pic quality, TONs of memory
Cons: Durablility is bad. Archos support sucks. Battery life VERY short.

This product is VERY good for the time it actually does work. First of all the support at archos SUCKS! you cant understand them and they also dont help at all! My archos was the best MP3 player i've ever had. It did everything i expected it to, but in about 2 months the battery went bad and didn't hold a charge. THEN the MP3 player actually stopped charging the battery. I plug it in and nothing happens. Problems with wiring? Sometimes i could still turn it on and charge it for a little bit . But then the screen didn't work. What is with this product! Tech support wouldnt even fix it or replace it even though it was under warranty.
