Pros: Excellent Photo Quality Prints!! Good Printer for the price!! Cons: None
Excellent Printer. Easy to set up and use. Has many photo print options from 4X6 to 8X11. Five separate ink tanks. USB or Parallel connection. Great bundle of software. I have never owned a Cannon printer before, but I would recommend this one over an Epson or H.P. any day!!
Great Quality Photos and nice text by maxxus2 ,Dec 30 '03
Pros: everything is good Cons: slightly noisy at startup
I experienced true photo quality with this printer. I traded the epson C84 for this one, much better. It is very fast as well. Has everything that I need, and nothing that i don't want (card readers!!). The direct printing is a nice feature that works well. A great printer for photos as well as general printing.
My disappointment Xmas day/delight By Monday by pulcher61 ,Dec 30 '03
Pros: Fast printing and Great customer service Cons: print on plain paper not as clear as photo paper
Cannon is great!! When I got a defective printer I thought it was going to be like pulling teeth to get it fixed/repaired or replaced... I called Cannon the Day after Christmas they determined it was defective, and sent me a brand new printer via 2day ups, they also sent a return UPS label for me to ship the old one back. The guy I was on the phone with said we are sorry no less than 10 times, What great Customer service!! I would highly recommend working with Cannon again!! Now that we have a working printer we are delighted with the pictures it prints!!!
Excellent Photo Quality Printer by marabele ,Nov 01 '03
Pros: price, quality, paper feed, separate ink refills and easy to use Cons: none
I was questioning the quality of the prints until I compared a 4x6 done on the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy and a developed print from Wal Mart ... the I860 print looked much better. I thought that I would need the six colors in the I950, but the 4 work great, just as the salesman had told me. Everyone that I have shown the pictures to are amazed. The print speed is excellent and the printer software is easy to use. I also like the 4x6 paper feed that comes with the printer. There is no need to worry about a misfeed
Canon i860 is just what I wanted by sg7766 ,Jan 15 '04
Pros: Superb "lab quality" color photos, fast black and white. Cons: Haven't owned long enough to judge ink mileage.
I walked into Best Buy expecting to buy an HP ink-jet to replace my old HP. The salesman convinced me that photos from my Canon digital camera will come out better on a Canon printer, and that the i860 is also fast (and ink-thrifty) for black text. I felt foolish for believing him, but when I got it home and tried it, he's absolutely right! Use Canon 4x6 paper (or larger if you wish) and get prints that look like you sent away to a lab for them.
Very fast black&white ("draft" mode looks fine), reasonable speed on color photos (which look GREAT).
Great software, hooks up nicely with Canon camera software.
For the price, it's a great deal.
Pros: Quick, Fast, Good rating by Sept 2004 Consumer Reports. Great price with the OfficeMax rebates. Cons: Reliability to soon to tell. No problems yet. Takes up lots of space.
First of all I'd like to thank "sonnetceles July 04" for putting me on to the OfficeMax rebates. The printer was $119 and I also sent in for the $30 rebate (ended I believe) and $20 gift card. GREAT!! I couldn't believe my first print job. The i860 printed out with such speed. Quite a difference from my turtle printing Lexmark Z32.
Consumer Report tested printers in the latest issue. Of the printers tested, the Canon i860 was on top...#1. That's why I bought it.
Canon i860 "The one to get" by rdevoe01 ,Feb 08 '04
Pros: Great photos,4X6 paper holder, low cost ink cartridges Cons: none
I do a great deal of digital photography and have found this to be the most accurate reproducing printer I have scene yet. I have the Canon a80 digital camera and after combining this with the Canon i860 you have a perfect match. I am sure this will work well with any digital camera. Just remember the better the camera and the higher the megipixle count the better the quality from the printer.
It prints laser quality and is the quietest running printer I've ever seen or owned. I especially like the 2 black ink cartridges, the one for text and the other for graphics and photo I never knew the difference in the 2 inks until you see them side by side. Great photo printer I have recommended it to several other people who I work with.
Also saves you money with low cost ink cartridges.
(about half the price of HP)
