Pros: Beautiful, blemish free borderless large format printing. Cons: Big.
A month ago, I was the one telling all my friends that there was no reason to buy a photo printer when you can get such great results by taking my flash card to Wal-Mart. I mean, come on, 8X10 photo quality prints, in an hour, for less than $3? Then ...

Pros: Reasonable price, 11x17 capability, print quality, individual ink cartridges Cons: Large footprint - takes up lots of space on your desk
I purchased this printer primarily because of its 11x17 capabilities and individual ink tanks. I am an architect and was looking for a printer that could handle 11x17 for producing half-size CAD plots. This machine handles this task authoritatively and ...

Canon i9100, Awesome wide carriage printer
by goncho ,Mar 06 '04
Pros: Fast, Superb pictures with full bleed up to 13x19 Cons: Ink cartridges are small
I bought the Canon i9100 primarily for its wide carriage capability so I could do network and office diagrams.
So far I've only printed pictures full bleed on 4x6, 8x10 and 13x19. Wow, this printer is awesome and fast too! Prior to this I tested an Epson 2200 and the Canon wins in my opinion. If you shop around you can get the ink cartridges for under $10.00.
Canon photo paper works the best in this printer. However I got good results with HP premium photo paper, glossy 8x10. The canon 4x6 photo paper pro gave me better results than the HP 4x6 premium plus glossy photo paper.
If you are looking for a great photo printer with wide carriage capabilities and can't wait until May 2004 when Canon comes out with the i9900, the you should definitely purchase this one.
