Pros: SXGA Screen. Built in WiFi. Touchpad button. Audio controls on the side. Firewire Cons: Major power consumption due to desktop processor. Sluggish performance for a P4 2.6.
I got this two months ago and the first one that I got had a mute button that didn't work and the WiFi didn't work. I got the mute button working with a patch but had to return the computer for another one since the WiFi problem couldn't be fixed with a ...

Worst laptop ever
by tomwestbrook ,Jun 30 '04
Pros: Price was good, but too cheap Cons: Too many to list
I bought for about $1500. After about 3 weeks the hard drive died. Took SIX WEEKS to get a replacement. Now after a year the internal wireless adapter is dying--it flakes out every so often and I have to cycle the driver to get it working again.
Do yourself a favor and buy something from another company, as it's obvious from this POC that HP isn't very serious about quality control. Dells are nice and I have a 4 year old Gateway that's still running fine use it as a file server-too slow for modern apps.
It also runs too hat, esp after two of the fans have died. The thing is falling apart after only a year. It's crap.

HP Ze53585us --- Horrible Product -- Avoid --
by kubilay ,Sep 16 '03
Pros: Gives you the feeling that you have a powerful laptop. Cons: Heavy, very poor quality, horrible design, warms quickly, noisy.
Terrible Product.
It has an unbelievably terrible design, poor quality in body. It is made in China. It gets hot quickly, and 3 (hair-dryers)fans inside make noise and also heats your table or desk. You can dry your hair with these. It is 448 memory, since 64 MB of the RAM goes to video graphics. Speakers make noise. Very thick.
Mine came defective, sound card and speakers did not work. Touch pad also sometimes did not work or worked inconsistently. It got warmed quickly and 3 big fans which remind me the ones in the movie called "Tango and Cash", made lots of noise. All plastics parts have the lowest quality I have ever seen, the keyboard, main body...
The production managers used the lowest choice of everything. I am trying to send it back and spend lots of time and bear stress. I also faced the same problems in an HP Digital camera. HP, i am sorry, but you manufacture horrible products. Hire more intelligent managers which will bring you customers.
