by surferdude7 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Oct 02 '03
Pros: It prints excellent black and white photos!
Cons: The replacement cost of all the cartridges!
The HP PhotoSmart 7960 is designed for excellent Black & White photo prints as well as color. The 7960 comes with 4 different cartridges that give you a total of eight different colors. The printer is real quiet, you do hear when it loads the paper an ...

PhotoSmart 7960 both better and worse

by yusakugo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Nov 12 '03
Pros: Outstanding grayscale and B&W photo prints, color LCD, flash memory card slots
Cons: Size, cost of cartridges, average text print quality, lack of vividness of color photos.
Anyone who has been reading my epinions for the last couple of years knows that I'm a pretty loyal supporter of HP printer products. Being fairly happy with my PhotoSmart 7550, the announcement of the new high end PhotoSmart 7960 with 9 ink color tank su ...

HP's flagship falls short

by majid , Oct 02 '03
Pros: Grayscale printing, direct prints from digital camera media. Mac support. Automatic paper type detection.
Cons: Costly ink. Uneven print surface. Limited choice of media. No large prints. No PictBridge.
Photo quality inkjet printers have come a long way in terms of quality. The HP 7960 printer is the flagship in a new line of printers, after 2 years in which HP's aging product line compared unfavorably to new models from Epson and Canon. At the same time ...

Small print imperfections degrade photo print quality

by mrhodes2 , Jan 13 '04
Pros: Fast, quiet, great print quality with HP Premium plus paper
Cons: Noticeable marks on prints caused by rollers in paper path
Purchased an HP7960 thanksgiving weekend, 2003. I was excited about the new photo B&W cartridge. Print quality is great with one exception. There are what looks like little perforations in prints running lengthwise on the photo from the printer. ...

I love my HP7960
by anton2002 ,Nov 02 '03
Pros: Great prints, low cost, easy to use, cartridges last forever and are reasonably priced.
Cons: It was a little too long for the spot in my desk.
My HP 7960 makes the best ink jet prints on the market today. You'll be in awe when you see the truly amazing work My HP can do. I like to make my own calendars and greeting cards. With this HP you can make them look truly professional. Photos look colorful, vibrant, and the sharpness is outta this world. You simply cannot wait another day... this is a must have!! Go to Circuit City now!!! It's on sale!

HP 7960
by blitz402 ,Oct 12 '03
Pros: Best B&W printing to date, great color prints, direct printing from different digital sources.
Cons: Costly ink, limited selection in media size, connects only via USB.
I decided to go with this printer after much side by side comparison with the Canon I950. Both produced vivid color pictures. Both performed well with the HP having an edge in PPM both in color and b&w. But when it came to B&W picture printing, it was an unfair fight. The HP produced the best B&W pictures that I had ever seen from a printer at this level, and that made all the difference in my selection.

Outstanding Photo Printer
by IdahoMom ,Dec 23 '03
Pros: Outstanding quality on digital photos. Very crisp output on black & white documents.
Cons: Both printer cost and replacement ink cartridge cost are higher than others but worth it
This is my 2nd Hewlett Packard printer, and I have been so impressed with the quality of my digital photos.
