Pros: Beautiful picture, sound, function. A sleek, professional machine; I'm very pleased. Cons: External floppy extra; I chose to add Word Perfect; sometimes have to adjust brightness.
I shopped for the best laptop for about $1500 that I could find. I first went with a Dell Inspiron ...
Pros: Superb screen resolution, insane sound quality, Toshiba quality & service. Cons: Expensive, HDD could be faster, hard to find a good case for it, heavy.
Up front, I actually have a 5205-S5151 but the S505 is its kid brother. The S5151, only available at Office Depot, has in addition to the standard S505 features, Windows XP PRO and the Wireless LAN card installed.
Pros: Nice screen, fantastic speakers, large hard drive. Cons: Can run a little hot and is a little heavy with the 2nd battery.
I looked at a LOT of laptops before choosing the S505. It wasn't very easy, either, because Toshiba has very little information on their web site, and what is there is very hard to locate. But enough about their web site.
