Pros: it's cute and small and works
Cons: use a switch for greater speed, and they're cheaper now

This is a hub. A dumb hub: all packets go to all ports regardless of need. Now that a similar SWITCH is available for $20, why bother with hubs (a switch acts like a switchboard: the data goes only to the port needed, and it supports full duplex: you can transmit and receive at the same time, so that doubles the speed!).
