Pros: Intuitive interface, great portability, packed with features Cons: Buggy firmware, occasionally sticky controls, problems with file transfers
I've had the player for 2 months now, and enjoyed it tremendously. The interface is intuitive, as is the included file transfer software. It's small and light enough to fit very comfortably in a shirt pocket, great for commuting, and I like the sound ...
Pros: Size, style, ease of use Cons: User manual, headphones
I received this, my first, MP3 player for Christmas. As with all my electronic gadgets, I familiarized myself with all its features and functions within the first hour of opening the box. Style I was initially impressed with the look of it ...
I was looking for something small enough to put in my pocket for my commute. When I started looking for a player, I didnt realize that there were so many brands to choose from. I took a chance with the MPIO FL100 because of its style and ability to expand ...
Pros: small size, packs a big punch, great features Cons: headphones, USB plug cover flimsy, can't re-sample bit-rate with supplied software
The first thing i took notice to is the size of the player, it's perfect. Small and light enough to fit in any pocket comfortably, but big enough to have a descent size screen (3 lines). I had read in some other reviews that there were conce ...
Pros: Small, light, sleek, FM radio, expandable memory, arm band, relatively inexpensive Cons: Arm band is terrible, volume is digital, random play doesn't always work, weak headphones
I bought this Mp3 player for the following reasons: - it's small and light - it's sleek and cool looking, with blue indigo lighting - FM radio - expandable memory - arm band for roller blading - relatively inexpensive, about $40 less than Rio ...
Pros: More features than anything in it's size (or price range). Cons: Battery life was short, but probably typical of most digital media players.
I have had my MPIO FL100 for 2wks now and use it every day listening to the radio when I commute and MP3s while excercising. There are similar ones on the market like the IRiver IFP-380T, but that not expandable. Others don't have FM tuner/recorder or vo ...
Great product until you have a problem with it. by z-factor ,Oct 28 '04
Pros: Small, light, Chinese character support Cons: Customer Service!, Flimsy USB cover
I bought this for my wife last Christmas and she loved everything about it. One big problem. It stopped working ten months later. Once that happens you'll find out, like I have, that their customer service is somewhere between poor to non-existent. After finally getting a hold of someone, they're telling me that the warranty period is 120 days. This is not what my user manual says! Nobody in their right mind should buy a product from a company with a 120 day warranty anyway, especially when it used to be a year. This tells me that they don't believe in the reliability of their product anymore.
Pros: Nice looking player, sounded great, voice recorder and FM radio and SD/MMC card option. Cons: Absolutely horrible software for media management. Too many crashes.
I really like the player itself. What I didn't like was the software interface. I found the media manager was extremely unstable. I was running Windows XP with SP 1 and could not get many songs loaded into the player without freeze-ups and crashes. I also tried to use plug-ins with Musicmatch 8.2 and Windows Media Player 9. All had the same problem. The player, after it finally got loaded was easy to use, nice looking and didn't seem to have any issues. Didn't use the radio portion or voice recorder on this much. I mainly purchased this due to the SD card compatibility and because I wanted to be able to pack around lots of albums in WMA format. They all sounded great.
Pros: Price, looks, battery life Cons: Software, tech support
I thought this was a great player at first. And for the cost it isn't too bad. The headphones sucked so I had to buy new ones of those but the battery life is ex excellent.
My biggest complaint is when downloading the MP3's to the device. My computer always locks up when downloading them and often times has a hard time reading what is currently on the player. I have tried two different units and have had the same problem with both. I'm running XP so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Also, don't expect to get tech support via email. They never respond to that.
I guess the overall moral is that you get what you pay for. I wish I would have spent a couple extra bucks and got the rio.
Pros: Sleek, Easy to use, expandable, FM tuner, Equalizer Cons: Poorly designed carrying case
The player itself has an equalizer that works well, a recorder, and an FM tuner with presets.
I got this player for Christmas from my wife and it has all the features I was looking for. Unfortunately, there is a flaw that needs to be addressed. The carrying case that comes with the player closes with a snap connecter. If you use this case, it is very easy to crack the LCD screen by pushing on the front of the unit (LCD screen) and the snap back to 'click' the snap closed.
One of my best choices ever by espencere ,Jan 22 '04
Pros: sound quality, display, size, expandibility, sound recording, FM radio, battery life Cons: headphones, manual, fragile shell and awkward case
Before Christmas, i had thoroughly researched mp3 players. in fact, i spent hours deciding which one to get. it came down to a few other creative labs and samsung ones, an this one. at first it was last on my list, however at the last minute i found a good deal on it for 120 dollars instead of 140 (this price may change over time). i was slightly unsure of my decision as i had never heard of the brand before this choice. i did not regret it, though, and have not regretted it since.
though the manual is translated poorly from korean, it is not difficult to figure out. a 128 mb flash memory is sufficient, especially with the secure digital expandability. it is quite small, works excellent with superb sound quality (although the given headphones are nothing to brag about) and a great display. at first it looks small, but it is efficiently used. this player also has an FM radio which seems to work fine, voice and FM recording, both of which are great. also, the battery life is incredible, with 11 hours on only 1 small AAA. i highly recommend this player.
Awesome player! Relative unknown. by johnc1211 ,Dec 27 '03
Pros: Cool, sleek looking. Very good sound. Nice, high quality extras. Neat case, but see cons. Cons: You cannot view screen through he case. Not much else.
In a nutshell, I now own two Mpio players. Both are great players with relative ease of use, sleek styling, very good sound.
I've tried several radio/mp3 players... by bstudios_dt3000 ,Mar 11 '03
I've tried several radio/mp3 players and this is the only one that had even passable radio reception. It's been crystal clear on every station I've tried, even while out walking around. MP3 playback is flawless. Controls are easy to operate. Battery life seems good so far (still on my first battery). SD expansion is a big plus. If it had native Linux support (as a usb-storage device) it would be perfect. And it's very competitively priced. Highly recommended.
This was my first digital... by lobito_dt3000 ,Feb 25 '03
This was my first digital player and I must say that I really like it. It has all of the things that you would want if you are a basic user (e.g., person who listens to music primarily at the gym or while travelling).
Pros: Tiny and light. Great display. Great FM reception. Great sound quality. Easy and intuitive to use the basic features. Good interface software. Supports MP3 and WMA. Ear bud headphones are comfortable and don't budge and are plenty long.
Cons: Tech documentation is worthless (translated from Korean). Carrying case makes it hard to push some buttons. (I solved this by carving out the plastic with an X-acto knife and it works great).
