Pros: Strategic Action-RPG goodness Cons: Storyline...where did my usual FF storyline go?
It's been nearly a decade now since Nintendo made the mistake that set the wheels in motion for Sony's dominance with the PlayStation - that is, when they ticked off Squaresoft. While Square was putting together the game that would become Final Fantasy ...
Pros: fun gameplay, tons of hours of gameplay Cons: no voice overs, characters look to much like kids
I found this game at Blockbuster back when I used to rent games. I was looking for a new GameCube game to play, and ever since playing Final Fantasy X I have been into the Final Fantasy Franchise. When I saw Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles I ...
It's been a long time since Super Mario Bros. RPG. That fun little game was the last time anyone had seen a Square game made for a Nintendo console. Both companies certainly have had their hits and misses, and various theories as to why it happened. ...
Pros: Graphics, music, multi-player Cons: No videos, GBA requirement, not much storyline
I recently purchased a Nintendo GameCube with my income tax return along with this game, because I am a huge Final Fantasy fan. I already own a Playstation 1 and 2 with all of the other Final Fantasy titles, and I must say that I'm a little confused ...
Nice Gameplay, Not Much Depth by pinedae ,Jun 23 '04
Pros: Beautiful graphics, fun game play. Fun for playing in a group. Cons: Awkward game mechanics. Needs multiple players w/ GBAs for best experience. Poor story-telling.
The animation is very nice. Beautiful renderings for environment, nice character designs. The music is okay. I like the voice-overs, although their tone would appeal more to kids than adults. I find the game mechanics a bit awkward. I don't like scrolling through a list of actions; I wish there were shortcuts so I can react better to the real-time action. The writing for the background/history is a little weak, making the game appear lacking in depth. This is a great game for children or young adults, but more audiences may find the game a bit shallow compared to other RPGs on different gaming platforms.
I have a hard time getting into this game, after experiencing Grandia II for the Dreamcast and many of the Blizzard RTS games.
Good, despite the hook up hassles by ryuodo ,Mar 03 '04
Pros: multi player final fantasy, fun gameplay Cons: tedious linking of gba
As the title sugests, this game is indeed, very good. the gameplay is solid and very fun in multiplayer, but is very much less fun when played by ones self. The game itself is a very unique and intriquing with an original storyline, and varied fun fighting and traveling systems, though the requirement to use a gba to play the game is sort of overused, and has you constantly darting your view between the tv and screen. And the fact that you cant move your character while ordering your menues can be very hazardous and may endanger you at a desperate moment in a boss fight. though, these themselves are minor complaints, and all in all the game is just a welcome refreshment to the final fantasy franchise
