Pros: All the big claims. Cons: It was really just problem after problem.
We got this to use at our small business. We have a lot of old files with a lot of information that requires shredding to throw away. So we the Royal 15MX Shredder. It was the most expensive shredder for sale where we bought it but it claimed to be ...

Pros: Price, croscutt/confetti, shreds CDs credit cards, heavy duty, manual controls, 15 pages at once Cons: None that I know of; very well designed unit
Epinions seems to list this shredder twice, once under "Royal 15MX shredder" and the second under " Royal Royal 15mx Commercial Paper Shredder (Shreds CDs & Credit Cards) ". Both of these refer to the same exact unit. There is only one model of Royal ...

Pros: Compact, inexpensive, gets the job done. Cons: As of now none noted.
In an effort, in todays world, to protect my documents and keep wayward souls from stealing my identity, I purchased a paper shredder. A nice little ditty, the Royal cross-cut shredder was just the ticket. Turns out the joke was on me, who would ...

Great Shredder
by bobfields ,Aug 03 '05
Pros: Quiet, powerful, easy user interface Cons: Plastic rollers on carpet are a little wobbly, but not a big problem.
Just received this shredder after old one "died." Read some reviews on the net about problems; but I have just pushed about 30 pounds of old paper records, tax returns, photographs and checkbooks through without it missing a beat. Shredding for 30 minutes continuous! Even thought the manual say 20-minutes maximum. This thing is really quiet, powerful and efficient. The only time it jammed is when I tried to make it jam, by putting more than 15 pages through at a time. It stopped, reversed itself and cleared the jam with out a problem. This thing works. The 3/4 hp motor (bigger than a lot of "home" units) and all steel gears make a difference.

Unreliable at best
by matrixunloaded ,May 07 '04
Pros: Good concept, very, very poor product Cons: Broke after two weeks despite three repairs, and replacement malfunctioned in first month.
I have had the shredder for five weeks, three of which it has been in the repair shop, not once, but twice. It worked for two weeks and has never worked again despite three trips to a repair facility located 15 miles away.
After the first attempted repair, in which the third party authorized repair facility replaced the circuit board, it failed upon my first attempted use.
I returned it again, showed them again it was not working, and left it again. I checked today (another two weeks), and Royal shipped the wrong part to the repair facility.
I suggest you have another shredder handy just to fill in the time that it is in the repair shop.
Also, the quality of the third party repair facility I am using seems to be on the same par "quality-wise" as the shredder.
UPDATE: Royal eventually shipped a replacement unit. After about a month, the automatic cut-off quit working, but I was sick and tired of taking it in multiple times for repairs.
UPDATE 2: I took it back this last week and was told "3 to 5 business days for the parts to be shipped". Royal is a LOSER.
