Pros: wide field, pretty nice and clear image, sturdy design
Cons: small spherical aberration and glare, little heavy
Mechanics: the 7x35 DPS-I binocular is a strong and sturdy design with rubber protection. The chassis is metal not plastic hence pretty heavy (regrettably eyepiece holders are plastic so there's minor flexing)
Image: pretty good optics quality overall, the field is very wide (9deg) and the image is sharp, bright with true colors. The 'good FOV' is about 75 percent laterally and 50 percent up-down
From a purist viewpoint when holding the binoc on a wall and looking at very small details a small blurr (spherical aberration) is noticeable (on a pleiades star test stars can never be true points as in more expensive binocs) , but for ordinary handheld viewing the defect is not noticeable. Finally some glare is visible when looking away from a bright source. I have seen cheaper binocs with less glare.
