Ace Hardware

Stay away from Ace Hardware Online store... Ordered an item, a month later, still waiting for the item. Emailed them, and they told me the item is on the way. Then waited for another 2 more weeks, still nothing. Then sent them another email, and again told me it would be here next week. I should have read the reviews before placing an order with Ace Hardware. I guess just have have to wait for another 2-3 weeks and send them another email.

Very bad experience. They entered the wrong product on my order. Once I realized it via their web site, they said the order although had not shipped, they were unable to cancel the order. If I refused delivery, I would be responsible if the shipper lost the product. I will not order from them again.

I WAS LOOKING FOR SPECIAL BRACKETS THAT NO ONE SEEM TO CARRY EVEN ON THE WEB. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO DIRECTED ME TO ACE HARDWARE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND NOT ONLY ORDERED THE BRACKETS BUT GAVE ME A CHOICE OF COLOR.
THEY CONFIRMED BY EMAIL AND HAD THE MANUFACTURER SHIP THEM DIRECTLY TO ME. THEY ARRIVED AS PROMISED AND WERE MUCH CHEAPER THAN I EXPECTED AS ACE DISCOUNTED THE PRICE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO DEAL WITH.
THE OTHER NEGATIVE LETTERS ABOUT ACE HARDWARE ALL SEEM TO INVOLVE SHIPPING THE PURCHASES TO A LOCAL STORE WHICH DID NOT SELL THE PRODUCT AND HAS LITTLE OR NO REASON TO ASSIST THE BUYER.

Total and utter contempt for their customers. Just hope nothing goes wrong because they will NEVER sort it for you.
We moved house a year ago. Ordered from ACE this year and told them our new address, 140 miles away. They delivered to the wrong address. When we rand them they told us we must arrange to collect the items ourselves. We don't have any dealings with the buyer of our house. They demanded the telephone number of our old house buyers and would not believe us when we told them we did not know and did not correspond with them. So, despite emailing customer Services every day, sometimes ten times a day if I have time, they acknowledge the email, then don't reply. Ring them and an Indian lady or gentleman does not have a scooby-doo how to correct it. Now the payment is due and we owe nothing, so we will have go through all the rigmorole of whatever they decide to do.
DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE-POLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Recently I had a bad return experience.  I had bought quite a lot of tools from Ace before and actually like them. However, less than 2 weeks ago, I bought a tool from Ace local store and found the tool not to my expectation. When I tried to return it, the store only offers me a store credit rather than a refund.  That is a strange and wrongly stated 30 day satisfaction guarantee.In the future i will be more cautious to buy anything from ACE and even completely avoid it.

Ordered an attachment to a Kickenaid food proscesser ans rec'vd an attachment for a mixer. Never got that resolved.

Last wee I ordered some refills for my kitchen trash container to be sent to my local store for pickup and today got a hugh box (falling apart) for several orders for out of town people.

Another run around. Beware of this company.

ACE pulls bait and switch.

I bought a snowthrower online and they sent me a cheaper model. The one I ordered was the MTD YARDMAN 9.5 HP, and they sent me the 8.5 HP model. When I offered to keep it for a reduced cost they edited the website to say (9.5 or 8.5 model) and "Models may vary". Can you believe it? They are shipping a model which costs $130. less than the 9.5 HP Amazon.com (12/28/2004). What a scam. Needless to say, I will never shop at ACE again, online or otherwise.

I recently purchased an Irwin drill bit for $3.99 at the Ace Store located in midtown Sacramento. It's a little store that essentially serves everyone in the midtown and downtown Sacramento. I've been shopping there for 5+ years now.

Recently, the drill bit I purchased broke after one attempt to drill out an old screw. Thus, I went back to the store and asked for a replacement. The manager told me that he could not provide a replacement because this is a common practice that these bits break and "that's life." I read him the back of Irwin's drill bit packaging that stated if you are not satisfied with the product or if it is defective return it back to the retail store for a refund or replacement. He then stated that I need to go back to Irwin to get a refund or replacement.

Thus, for $3.99 Ace Hardware will lose all of my future shopping because I will never go back to Ace again. I'd rather drive the extra 5 miles and go to Home Depot where they stand up for their customers.

I've not shopped at Ace Hardware Online b/c the prices listed through Epinions are frequently different than the actual item price. Before you click through a purchase, make sure you're getting the price you think you're getting.
